Chandler? A rich man's Eddie Griffin? Over Brand? Max Deal? There is always the possibility that Chandler will never get any better. Chicago would be stupid to match a max deal, not unless it is a sign and trade.
An MLE offer would do nothing but make Chicago happy owners of a bargin signed Chandler. Even a max offer from another team would more than likely be matched (5 year for less money than they could offer). Only way he's leaving Chicago is if he accepts the one-year tender like Swift did. I would take Brand over Chandler in a heartbeat. Especially on the injury issues. Chandler is fragile to a worrisome level. He's also looking more and more like a fringe starter as opposed to the All-Star caliber guy that Brand is. I'll go with the 20-10 (last year) player that averages 75 games and 38 mpg for his career instead of 12 and 10 (last year) averaging 65 games and 24 mpg for his career. Evan
