We were #2 in the West the prior year with a team of babies growing up with a little dead weight (aka Jalen). That was with a coach who knows almost nothing about offense. Then we acquired the KD cancer. We get rid of the cancer and bring in a complete coach and this team will continue to grow. All of our talent is still a few years away from hitting their prime.
You are right about the first half, it's Nwaba not Clemons. But for the second part, according to a text message between Hartenstein and a rockets fan, it is Stone who made the decision though he wasn't the GM yet by then.
Not with running an offense thru a center who can’t shoot more than 12 ft and a combo guard who shoots the same distance. Again no team in the NBA has this issue. None.
Also, it is not Stones fault the lottery did not fall our way. I blame the NBA because I think they control the whole system. He got the best players available when he drafted. It was not his fault Cunningham, Banchero, Wemby, & Flagg went #1 when we didn't have #1 picks. The NBA rigged it for those teams to get #1. Maybe Stone could have bribed them more for the lottery to magically fall our way.???? He did really good getting Alpi, Amen, & Reed with what we had. Jabari is a decent role player but Banchero and Chet were gone. His only swing and miss was with Jalen. His biggest mistake to date was the trade that brough us KD the cancer. Hopefully he fixes that mistake this offseason.
I don’t see it that way. Fred and Dillon were key and Jalen had his best yr. People forget because he was bad in the playoffs but Jalen was great in the regular season. None of those guys played for the Rockets this season. I don’t think the young core has made the progress necessary to deserve fans’ confidence. In fact players like Sengun have actually regressed. The core is two high-end role plsyers and two guys that can’t shoot. I don’t know what to make of Reed yet, but I have my doubts. I just dont think it’s good enough. The west has gotten a lot better; we simply haven’t. I think we are a play-in team at best without KD (who I agree should be traded).
If I didn’t bring up Green why did you feel the need to? Also Green has no relevance in this discussion. If you’re bothered and triggered by what I said and found it offensive then that’s on you for being overly emotional and sensitive in response to my opinion. Before you open your mouth and write a snarky and mindless response you should probably stop and not do it.
GRRRRR! Another place to vent about how much our organization sucks now!!!! We have a lawyer with less hoops knowledge than half the GARM as GM. And, a "coach" who is incompetent, narcissistic, and accepts no responsibility. (full blast on players 24-7) How long will Tilman allow this circus to continue as is?
the Clippers who are under investigation and are a giant headache for Silver kept their pick instead of it going to Indy. Utah, who the NBA has quietly been at war with over tanking and has been fined I don’t know how many times got the#2 pick. Big market teams like Brooklyn continued to get frozen out of the top of the draft. There is no conspiracy. The league is a conglomerate of egomaniac billionaire owners. No one is gonna let the nba rig the draft for one of their rivals. As far as Stone being unlucky, if you’ve run into a dead end after building for 6 freaking yrs, u didn’t get unlucky. You made serious mistakes. Sure we didn’t get to draft Cade or Wemby. But we took ourselves out of these last two drafts; two of the best. We didn’t give ourselves a chance to draft in the top 4 in these generational drafts because we traded Brooklyn back their picks. These were choices. The plsyers we drafted and built around were choices. The lack of player development is a choice of priorities. Extending ime unnecessarily and prematurely was a choice. Not making any trades to strengthen the young core of this team was a choice. Choices man.
Yea I thought that was very stupid, then ended up bringing in Oladipo who was coming off of injury and clearly past his prime
Rafael is friends with Tilman and that clearly gives him a little extra grace, sadly this front office and organization clearly sucks.
Tillman is checked out, he will be more worried about the comets who mostly likely win many championships when they move back
The problem isn't that we've "not hit our prime." It's that when we do hit our prime we're likely to be the modern equivalent of the Z-bo era Grizzlies. No real star, borderline all-stars, never true contenders even if we have playoff runs.
