KD and CC for JB’s expiring contract and two unprotected future firsts. Call it a day.

I realize it’s going to be tough to move FVV, but what is his role on this team? Does he slide back in as starter? Who subs for him, Smart or Reed? He’s certainly going to need reduced minutes, so would it be better to have him off the bench? Would he come in ahead of Reed?

I’m having a hard time seeing Reed get much more than Okogie’s 17mpg if Fred is still on the team, and I don’t think that’s the direction we should be going.

The Rockets would get a TPE equal to KD's salary. As the Rockets will likely be either over the 1st apron or close enough to it, KD's matching salary is basically his own salary as is as doubtful the Rockets will have much space under 1st apron to use under the 1st apron rules.

Granted, I find it funny that the Nets 27 pick, Suns 27 pick, and the Rockets 27 ping pong balls if they miss the playoffs are treated as worthless (or near worthless) by Stone haters, but a Detroit late 2027 pick is treated as irreplaceable and a fireable offense if the Rockets don't get it. Also, I have no idea how Detroit could match salary.

Most of the discussion involved Tobias Harris but I think most didn't realize he was a free agent at seasons end.

He could be used in a S&T where he makes up the bulk of the necessary $$ to make the deal work with subsequent years being team options .... with the possibility of routing him elsewhere since the Rockets have no use for him.

I'd prefer a better return that Tobias Harris ....

I don't think you are quoting me correctly. My quoted post doesn't say that.

Thanks. That 2nd part wasn't meant to be towards you.

I would give FVV, DFS, 2028 rocket pick, 2029 Phoenix pick, 3031 Houston pick for trey, jones (or other filler). I would then re-sign Tari. Try and trade Kd to Charlotte into their trade exception for 1 frp (2 if you could get it).
