I’d rather have Jaylen Brown over Giannis right now. Giannis would cost way too much and probably force us to gut the roster. At that point, you lose a lot of the depth and flexibility that makes this team promising. As of now, I’d rather run it back with upgrades, improve the shooting and depth, and see what happens in Boston with Brown’s situation. If he ever becomes available, that’s the type of move that makes more sense for us long term.
Maybe someone mentioned this already but he is up for an extension soon that will pay him $70 million per year….
Sign me up for flipping KD & Amen for Jaylen. Fixes the chemistry and prevents you from paying over $200M to a wing who can't shoot. Everyone says break up Amen & Sengun because neither of them can shoot, but keep Amen. I'm not suggesting that we hold on to Sengun no matter what. But which is easier? Finding a wing who can shoot? Or finding a center who can shoot? The vast majority of centers do not stretch the floor. But a wing who can't shoot is a huge liability.
If we could flip KD and draft picks for JB we would need to do it ASAP. JB is definitely capable of being the man and he fits our timeline with Amen, Jabari, and Alpi.
He is not a good 3 pt shooter, so doesn’t fix our main issue. If you make that trade you have to trade Sengun as well and bring back a stretch center.
