Leading scorer on playoff team isn’t nothing. Simmons is a good one, tho similar to Rose with the injury around time of fall off. Jordan Poole comes to mind. There are 600 guards that good in their mid 20s. 5 or 6 pop up every year.
BOS tried to get KD for Jaylen Brown in 2022 when he was a Net. Deal was Brown, Derick White and 1sts, but Nets wanted Smart and additional assets with Brown. So there is precedence for BOS wanting KD and offering Brown. Now that was 4 years ago, but it's something to consider. Fat boy says there could be a bidding war for Jaylen and that we're in the mix... https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/06/windhorst-bidding-war-possible-for-jaylen-brown.html Stevens will want to extract more from Stone, but if we could do something like this then that would be grand. DFS is likely a negative, so perhaps the PHX pick gets sent as well. There's a chance, but POR and ATL may have better packages.
My hope of a soft reset could be squashed by a Jaylen Brown overbid. We’ll probably go 30yr old star chasing instead. Bummer. We don’t have the foundation to contend with Jaylen Brown.
Because Brown is going to be very annoyed that they have offered him up for trades in 2 of the last 4 years. If they give him his huge extension, then he might be not ask out. If he does ask to be tradded, Houston will be on the top of his list.
I don't disagree, but shifting assets from an older KD to a better balanced and younger player is a big win from an asset management and overall team perspective. Key is what it would cost obviously.
If a big part of the compensation for JB is KD, sign me up! Agreed it would be great to convert KD into a 30yr old all nba player.
Yeah, the only way I'm fully onboard with a trade for Brown, with no major reservations, is if it's KD going out, not Sengun or Amen. I'd even give up some real draft capital in that case because I think there's a good chance we could recoup some or all of it in a couple years if things don't work out with Brown.
Jaylen Brown is a star worth building around due to age. He fits Sengun and Amens prime much better than KD
How does he fit? He’s a bad shooter who makes 35% of the cap (actually closer to 36%). His contract is disgusting AND he will want an extension. He’s already a bad/negative contract and will only get worse.
I'm guessing the Rockets do a soft to a hard reset in a season or 2. I don't hope for Amen, Sengun, JSJ, Reed, and Tari not to be good enough that a soft or hard is needed though.
it was interesting hearing clutch’s podcast just now where they say that the rockets are not going after JB. Maybe the org is more apt to run it back like u were projecting.

I have no faith in Stone. Only way we engage is if Ime puts the pressure on to get him like he did with KD. Jabari, DFS and give them the Suns pick and Nets pick. FVV Amen Jaylen Brown KD Sengun I'd actually have hope in that team. I'm so sick of having offensively incompetent guards. When Amen is our best guard scorer then you know you're building the wrong team.
