3pt shooting. You can’t beat them in the paint. Refs won’t allow Wemby to get in foul trouble. The only way to beat them is by getting up and making a ton of 3s.
You mean next year’s second round match up? Ya, I’m trying to think about how to beat the Spurs. A division rival.
2nd round matchup? Lol, you have to win your 1st round matchup 1st, and this team/core hasn’t even shown that they’re capable of that we were down 3-0 to 42 y/o Lebron… this is like a homeless person worrying about how they’re going to pay rent for a luxury apartment…bro, you don’t even have clean clothes
Sad to see your morale is so down in the dumps. Yes, the past two playoffs were disappointing but I’m far from blowing everything up and starting over.
Get rid of Sengun and Sheppard and possibly Amen. Bring in legit dynamic 2 guards and stars. Get a defensive big.
I am interested as to how much they pay Castle, Harper, Champagnie, Bryant, Keldon, Vassell which I would say is their main depth outside of Victor. And then they probably want to upgrade at backup C, replace Kornet and Olynyk in the long run. And how are so many Spurs fans Astro fans as well, they need their own MLB team.
I would imagine Castle gets a max rookie extension. The decision with Harper would be interesting. If they think he’s good enough then he likely would fill in the starting role and I have to think Fox would be traded. That was a smart move for them. If Harper grows that makes Fox expendable. If not Fox would still be here till 2030. I think Vassel or Johnson likely gone after 2029. Champagne is cheap. Kornet is a fine backup giving them rebounding and paint protection which is all they need. most of these contracts expire 2029 so their window to win is within these 3 years.
Harper looks pretty damn good to me. Like many of the young guys he needs a consistent 3 point shot. I would definitely bet on him becoming a really good core piece and get rid of Fox if I could.
No way San Antonio is dumb enough to let go of Harper. Next to Wemby, he is their future. Steph Castle is a fine player but Harper is a legit franchise cornerstone type of two way player any team would covet - he's a Cade Cunningham type player. San Antonio just has the luxury of a generational player around him so they aren't sunk if they lose him but Harper and Wemby are pretty much all you need to win a title in the future if both of those players stay healthy and continue their trajectory.
