I believe you are right about England's police, but I would bet that America is in the top 5 countries in violent crimes, certaintly higher than most industrialized nations and our police would be at a serious disadvantage without the use of guns.
Agreed. However, if you do away with guns, then, it would reason, that the police would not need guns. I know that there exists a possibility of buying guns illegally, but I can't see the crime in this country staying at the same level it is now or increasing. Logically, to me it just does not make sense.
