This thread is like a week before Christmas. So much hope on what the presents under the tree are but will be very disappointed once they're open.
I would trade KD for Irving and 9 but I wouldn’t include Reed, That trade doesn’t make sense for Dallas unless Reed is in the deal. Reed should be given another year with the Rockets, this year was basically his rookie season
I have read that 2028 is also supposed to be a poor draft. Interesting that could change. One thing that’s not changing: the 2027 draft sucks. Really wish we had not traded out of back to back good drafts. Super frustrating. Best guard class in many yrs.
What do you guys think about this trade: OKC: Kevin Durant Rockets: Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, Kenrich Williams, Nikola Topic, LAC 2026 First (Pick 12)
I highly doubt if OKC will give up so many assets for KD. I do think it’s possible to acquire the 12th pick from OKC. I have posted another suggestion for the pick earlier.
Sort of kicking around the idea of a Portland trade: HOU in Donovan Clingan Scoot Henderson Toumani Camara Possibly a first round pick, question mark? POR in Alperen Sengun Clint Capela Sort of feels like a lot of young talent to get back for essentially just Sengun, especially if we get an FRP in the deal, but Scoot's star has faded and Clingan IMO profiles as an elite roleplayer, not a star. Camara's defense regressed this season as well so his value on that contract is just OK, nothing amazing. I still think it might be too much, but I'm also thinking about the idea of winning a trade with a poorly-run franchise, and Portland's ownership situation being what it is, I think there's a chance they look to get off of Scoot rather than extending him, and that having a cost-controlled proven star like Sengun might greatly appeal to an organization that's basically just looking to make money off of being competitive enough to draw the fans but not truly contend.
I'm saying all their capital went to paying veteran free agent vets: Finney-Smith, Capela, Okogie and then resigning their bench brigade of veterans: Green, Holiday and Tate (I believe Tate was a FA at least). Anyway, they didn't pursue youth and draft capital they took a swing at a Champydue to having Durant and I can't see them taking a step backwards by dropping veteran presence with Durant still around to try and develop an unknown.
That’s reasonable. Reed has more potential, but Christie is the better player right now. I included him, because I don’t think KD is enough to get no. 9.
yeah. OKc ain’t doing that. I don’t think they have any desire for KD. They’re in the championship if JDub was healthy all series. They need to use draft picks to continue to manage their cap, either by drafting good YOUNG players or trading for them.
Who says no to this deal in a sign and trade: Suns: Tari Eason Rockets: Grayson Allen, Royce O’Neil Maybe Tate or Capela is added to the deal to make the salary work
