Minnesota is going to do all they can to keep Dosunmu. It would take a significant overpay to pry him away.

I could get behind that ... but at 5, damnit, I can't decide which one to take. Probably piss everyone off and take Wagler.

KD to OKC makes a lot of sense for both sides...

I think it would take way more than KD and a future first, personally. If I’m the Clippers, I’d demanding KD and all of the Rockets’ future draft capital for 5.

Counter-thought: What about KD for Garland and filler? Clippers get a KD and Kawhi duo while keeping the #5 pick (where they will likely take a PG). We get a much needed young guard who shoots .4 from 3 (albeit with some serious injury concerns).

I would overpay for Dosummu. Tillman won't

This guy is very underrated. Add him, trade up for Acuff Jr and your backcourt issues are solved for the next 8-10 years.

It actually makes no sense at all. Who does KD displace in the starting lineup? OKC plays fast with very aggressive defense, in what world does 38 years old KD fit in that equation? SGA and KD like to play in the same area of the court. Kd is a horrible fit for OKC.

    Raptors Receive :
    Amen Thompson
    Tari Eason SNT
    Fred Van Vleet
    Finnley Smith
    2 2nd rd picks in 26

    Rockets Receive via Raptors :
    Isaiah Quickley - PG
    Rj Barrett. SG
    # 19 2026 pick

Say who cares about Amen bricks, give me some shooters. Get out of paying Amen, Eason, Van Vleet....

Sengun is a allstar. Durant 1st team Allstar. Give me some young guns next to them.

With the #19 pick draft a center who can play defense.

Amen Thompson would get you to pick #4 and maybe pick #3, even in this draft. I don't think you realize how valued he is around the NBA.

I really wish this place would value the players on this team more.

I understand that it was a disappointing finish to the season and it doesn't seem like a championship is possible but take it into perspective. The Rockets started the season without their best ball protector (FVV), they lost their x factor midway through the year (Adams) and they lost their best player for the playoffs. Their big FA signings were unplayable in DFS and CC.

The team wasn't properly coached to overcome those issues and Stone hard capped the team by getting DFS and CC. There was VERY VERY little that could have been done to fix that.

KD going down the night before the playoffs and expecting a team that had him for 95% of the games as THE FOCAL POINT to just flip a switch was unrealistic. That's the fault of the FO and that's the fault of the coaching staff. They should have limited KD's minutes and given him 10-14 games off for rest, instead they used him as the PG and the entire offense the whole year. I understand the Lakers were banged up. Luke Kennard turned into Steph and Marcus Smart turned into Jrue Holiday. It was flukey but it happened. The Lakers had the GOAT on their team and he wasn't going to let a KD less team beat him. Before AR and Luka went down they were the best team in the league for a stretch. It's why they had home court despite flailing at the end a bit.

Take a step back. Take a deep breath. This team is incredibly flawed but panic trades for the sake of it are insane. Run it back unless you get $1.25+ on the dollar back for your players. Add around the margins. Set realistic goals next year. I.E. first round series win with home court. Maybe things go right and SAS / OKC has injury concerns. Don't be hard capped and pounce on opportunities. Also, FFS get Trey Murphy III. I'm telling you he's an allstar next year on his next team.

do you pay attention to NBA discourse? This may be the most pessimistic place I've read.

I'd like the Udoka connection to finally pay off and he ends up here with Capela or Adams moving on somehow.

Nah. If anything, it feels like Amen’s worth is understated here. For instance, the Ringer has his trade value as the 16th highest in the league, above guys like Tatum and Jalen Williams. The Raptors’ trade proposal is laughable for a guy like Amen.

Not bad. I don’t like that Garland’s been injured a lot but I like him. I’d want them to throw in another asset.

Still think we need to be taking a swing at a special player at #5…even if we have to give up an additional asset.

Harty, I. Joe and Sorber works for KD on the ESPN trade machine. OKC sends the 12th pick next month and the Rockets send out the 2027 Nets pick.

I’m not sure the Rockets would trade Amen for the no. 1 pick. This is a great draft and the top 3 are definitely going to be long-term good NBA players, but there is no Wemby or Flagg in this draft. People seriously underrate Amen on this board. Fortunately, the Rockets don’t. He is untouchable. He is a mid-range shot away from being an SGA impact player who is stronger, younger, and one of the best defenders in the league. Incredible work ethic and historic athleticism. I don’t know if he will hold out for a max extension, but if he does he will get it.

Looking forward to your reaction after giving up all these assets only to finally realise that Barrett can't shoot.

    Oh dear.
