people forget the very mixed playoff performance. They also forget that he shot 37% from the field and 34% from 3 while playing 60 games that last season. Now he’s 32 coming off ACL surgery. Why is Fred even a massive discussion topic? The whole thing is crazy to me. Dude had one good season for us and we’ve paid him around $110 mil.
The inconsistent 3 pt shot, T-rex wingspan, cannot finish around the rim and in traffic....yes. Can keep TOs lower (other than against OKC and Spurs), swipes at the ball and it accounts as blocks.....
I think you'd take a championship with Giannis and KD. I also think you and @Aruba77 just like the draft because it comes with boundless potential where you can almost makeup whatever you want. The reality is the Rockets aren't going to just rebuild every 5 years
Pessimism 100%. We are literally 3 seasons removed from 3 consecutive seasons of being the worst or tied for the worst. Have some perspective and pull yourself together.
Durant and Adams are fossilizing before our eyes. FVV is underrated and does move the needle, but not enough. This team ain' got it as is... which hurts to type after such a promising start to this season. How far we fell.
I’m not ready to call Flagg a superstar yet. I do agree with you though, our squad even at full health probably wouldn’t have beaten either team. While Wemby is certainly as advertised, I’m not optimistic on his long term health. Still, it’s obvious that when he’s healthy the Spurs are amazing. Regardless - we probably need to flush the old guys and keep adding via free agency, smart trades or draft. Our team is young enough to wait another year or two.
There is no more being bad enough to get a #1 pick. The 4-10 teams now have the best odds (8.7%) while the bottom 3 teams have been penalized and have an equal chance (5.4%) as 11-12 teams. Basically, they made the entire lottery a crapshoot.
I took that sentence to mean the Rockets would take a chip with Giannis and KD lol. Yes of course I would, I just don’t think the Rockets would be close to competitive with Giannis, KD, and who would be left after acquiring Giannis. I agree they’re not competitive now, either, but I don’t think Giannis is the answer.
I like Adams but ever since he’s been here I feel like he’s just been collecting checks. I hope he can finally be healthy for at least most of the year.
he won't be, older players get injured, and miss time...seems to happen around 32 -34 ish....more frequently ... DD
I really think it’s about being smart and repositioning ourselves to build a team for the long-term that can make Wemby uncomfortable. We need to start now and not f#ck around with this current bullsh#t construction. We are not close to win-now so let’s be smart.
