Not sure who has disappointed more this season: Burrows or Abreu? Being down 5 to start the inning instead of 2 really hurts.
Abreu without question. He had been one of the top relievers in baseball the past 4 seasons and now he’s suddenly forgotten how to pitch.
This was a winnable game. Espada can't pitch Abreu in the top of the 8th inning down 2 runs. With 6 outs left there is enough hope to not punt the game away. Coming off an off day and nobody taxed in the bullpen. Its time to give up on Abreu. If Joe is going to keep throwing games by putting him in, they are better off letting someone else have him for free and try to fix him. (release him and anyone can sign him for prorated min.)
This resting b**** face doofus has the most hittable stuff. this looks like a waffle ball on a silver platter.
It's a lot more likely than a 5 run deficit. Which I why I said it's time to send him down with an injury.
Yeah I agree, he should be on the IL until he gets his velocity back, whether it’s mentally or physically I don’t care either way. He has already lost himself a **** ton of money pitching through whatever is going on (“mechanical issues”) instead of just going to the IL. Could have at least blamed the dip in velocity on dead arm or something.
What do you mean? He’s been pitching so well in May. Just look at his stats! That’s what I was told the other night when he stupidly put him in a game with a one run lead.
If a pitcher isn't playable in meaningful innings it's on the front office to make a call of some kind. The only mop up exclusive player that should ever be on a team is long relievers.
Paredes isn't helping himself on either side of the ball this year, bringing subpar offense along with already suspect defense. Too bad Correa got hurt, miss the arm and defense.
Well, the good news is that this division is probably won with less than 90 wins.... so how likely is it that the Astros can play closer to .550 baseball the rest of the way? They are 6-4 in the last 10, so it's possible, though the big IFs remain... Will the pitching hold up? Can the bats recover and score runs? How will injuries impact the rest of the season for this team and others in the division?
