Hey, the result is what matters most but the last 2 outs came off an absolute bullet to Berkman. Fulchino's looked better. He's been solid though, esp. given expectations.

Did you see Berkman's AB from the right side yesterday? It made that last AB from Blum look good.

The balk rule is a joke

 

Yea, Fulchino's definitely had better days. He's giving up some clean hits.

4 hits, a walk and a balk so far over 1.2 inn.

He also got real lucky on that DP last inn.

 

Wow, we can't get this guy out.

 

I know it's not idea, but we need to take Fulchino out right here, he won't get another out if he's there all night

 

Why? Without it, runners would have almost no chance of stealing a base.

 

Ok, the current implementation of the balk rule at times is a joke

 

Fulchino's balk would have been a balk for as long as there has been a balk rule.

That's always embarrassing, kind of like Piniella walking out from the dugout to make a pitching change with no pitcher warming up.

 

Michaels had a 1.171 OPS over the last month coming into today. He had an awful start to the year but he was much better than that. He has a higher career OBP than Tejada.
