I need to see Imai make it through 5 innings while walking less than 4 hitters Anything else is gravy. Baby steps.
First inning bases loaded no outs and get nothing. With the incoming rain, this might be a lost game.
Imai is 2 pitches from a shutout. Josh Bell is locked in and Imai threw him 2 decent pitches at the top of the zone that Bell was able to get the barrel on. Imai is only at 73 pitches with 2 outs in the 5th and he’s still regularly pumping 96-97. The fact that he hasn’t walked anybody is a fantastic sign.
