Burrows almost always gets through 5, usually more. The problem is that he gets hit harder than a UFC fighter and he pretty much always gives up 4-5 runs too.
Our starting rotation is a mine field. You have two starters who are likely to implode. It’s hard to go on a win streak with a couple of volatile starters. The two volatile starters were the big moves Dana made in the offseason.
Cam in a year plus 2 1/2 months Home hitting .227 with a .682 OPS Road hitting .230 with a .643 OPS Brice on the other hand Home hitting .111 with a 309 OPS Road hitting .281 with a 896 OPS Cam is just so streaky so far, both last year and this year. Brice has been a totally different player at the plate away...but in baseball sense, it's a tiny tiny sample size
Astros are 4-10 when Burrows starts 29-29 when he doesn't We gave up two of our top 4 prospects for him, he has to be better
Lineup today is a joke But yea, this is how Espada keeps the team healthy I suppose. This is why we don't have all the injuries other teams have I guess.
Sitting Altuve the day after he hit a HR and sitting both he and Paredes when the team is desperate to build a winning streak. I don’t get it.
It’s way past time to get rid of this idiot. What are the Astros waiting for. They send Whitcomb down the day after he hit a home run to bring up a light hitting infielder that didn’t play. I’ve been a big Brown backer, but I’m starting to have my doubts.
Altuve has hit 6 HRs this year. He has not had a hit on the day after he hits one. In the days of advanced analytics, I'd think we'd be beyond the "hot hitter" stuff every time a guy has one big hit. But if you do believe in that stuff, then Paredes is 0 for his last 12. Both guys are batting under .200 in June. It appears Altuve just sits on Sundays as his standard day of rest.
Are you suggesting that since he hit a HR, they should have kept him up? Whitcomb is a light hitting infielder that sucks. He has hit 3 HRs in his MLB career - after each of the others, he didn't get another hit for weeks. The guy they sent him down for is in the lineup today. Maybe he'll go 0-4 and duplicate what Whitcomb likely would do or maybe he'll be better. The Astros suck - they need to be trying different things instead of just repeatedly playing awful guys because they have one good at-bat.
I knew it. It's the same Espada pattern. Keep doing the same things and it's another losing season. Eventually we're going to need to start sweeping teams to make up for all the series we've lost. The margin of error is slim. We missed the playoffs last year due to losing a damn tiebreak. He doesn't seem to care about this team going on a win streak and building up momentum I guess.
Royals broadcast said during Delgado AB that he was 50th player on Astros 26 man roster this season leading all MLB. Can this really be true? Two rosters worth. This feels bit random....getting guys from the streets to play? Maybe it was on 40 man or something. Also Bryce I need you to go ahead and come tomorrow and hit like this at home...that would be great okay.
The problem is there are only 5 hitters on this team and when you sit two of them, your lineup is trash. If this was the old days when we had 8 legit hitters and Maldonado bringing up the rear, it was much easier to sit two of them at the same time.
