Astros odds of making the playoffs are about 12%. Pretty hopeless. I think the next 10 games (CIN/SEA/TEX) will either bring them firmly into the division race and raise them back up into the 25-30% range (which would give hope with Hader, Pena, and Brown returns on the horizon), or finish them off where they’ll be 6+ games out and have single digit playoff hopes. 8-2 or better will create a spark. 6-4 will leave things unchanged. 3-7 or worse and dirt will have been thrown on the coffin they’re already in. Also, those are some pretty odd start times for this series.
Astros struggle mightily vs Cincinnati in some weird twisted superman-kryptonite type of way -- that will continue, or not. Houston is throwing some plus starters. Need sweeps but take the series WIN right now.
i don't get why shewmake can't play at SS instead of nick allen you have altuve at 2nd and nick at SS, both short AF with TERRIBLE wingspan. these guys can't get to ground balls
It’s because lefty is on the mound for the reds. I think Shewmake should be in there too but understand why he has Allen in there against Lodolo.
Jose has 2420 hits. I’m not sure he gets to 3000. Seems to be on a decline. He’s 36 now. Watch him get 4 hits tonight and tell me to F off.
I would bet heavily against him getting to 3000. But there is absolutely no shame in finishing with 2700+ hits. If gets to 2800 and he’s not having to retire due to injury, he should hang on to get that last 200, even if it means going and playing for a crummy team for 2-3 seasons as a part time DH.
