If you wanted to describe the overhaul of the OL in one or two words, does Finesse to Smash Mouth work for you?

Rule of thumb: draft large human beings with low short shuttle scores and long appendages (arms)

How about draft receivers who can catch the ball? Draft RB who don't fumble. OL who don't false start.

So as of today the prevailing wisdom is that, from L to R, the starting Oline is Ersery-Teller-Andrews-Ingram-Smith, right? With Fisher, Patterson, Evan and Trent Brown as depth. I am not sure they will carry more than 9 lineman during the season but I dont like our options at C and think the OT depth is iffy given Trent Brown's age. You guys think we are looking to add more line help in the draft or throw an offer at a FA that has heretofore been left out in the cold?

IMO, we get depth and or future starters in the draft, heck I am not sure Fisher makes the team, he is flat out bad

Personally, I have (Evan) Brown over Andrews... but agree with most of this. I think we draft one IOL who can play G/C... possibly pick up a future tackle (but it is not desperate for this year and could possibly be added next year)

Depends on the draft. a 1st RD OL player will likely mean Fish man is gone. Sad but yet another failed high OL pick. if OL in 2nd round still likely. Don't see them dropping Trent as that was a re-sign unless the man is hurt. Evan is new also. Patterson may be gone if they pick up 2 OL in early rounds. But likely starting 5 is on the team. And Evan and Andrews will have a battle.

Agree with this mostly. I think there will be competition at OC and we'll draft at least one IOL in 1st 3 rds. If we take a OT it will be dictated by value on the board and what they believe Fisher's future can be. We definitely need competition and depth behind OC and OG.

LOL. I'm so old I wore 13 like my grandfather, an ear muff helmet and played both offensive and defensive guard. Yeah, there used to be Defensive Guards.

And forwards were guys that made crude comments to the cheerleaders.

Most of the teams of not all with the better offenses Offensive lines rank in the upper half in offense I feel if it can in the 10-15 range that will be enough with the defense. Hopefully it’s not too late though.
