Honestly, the main thing I'll be interested in for this series is if Sengun and Amen rise to the occasion. How they perform in this series is a good indicator for the rest of their careers. The Nuggets aren't a good defensive team so we should have some big scoring nights from Sengun and some nights where Amen is just flying all over the place and causing havoc. If we're only talking about big nights from KD by the end of this series this team is done.
The actual odds earlier today said 57% chance to face the Lakers and 43% chance for Nuggets. We shall see
Wemby is out but they have their core still, while it's just jokic out there and he might rest the second half. Bron is playing today. Nugs first round matchup is what it is looking like
This kinda means the Lakers disagree wirh some of our posters here saying Lakers prefer to tank the game and play the rockets instead of wolves. They could have easily sat Lebron and everyone would understand sitting your 45 year old to give him some rest.
I think the outcome of this series will depend heavily on Sengun's performance. Denver will likely play Jokic and Valanciunas together more than they usually do to neutralize his post game while putting Gordon on KD to cut off that passing lane when Sengun looks to kick it out. They'll be willing to live with Amen and Jabari taking high volume shots. That's why we need to give Reed heavy minutes to get the pressure off of them. This is the kind of series where you simply cant afford to shoot below 36-37% if you want any real chance of winning.
The thing is Alpi can average 25 a game on 55% shooting and it still won't be close to Jokic's 35pts 12 assists/13 rebounds and 10 elbows to the body.
I think they believe luka could come back in time. And if they win the spurs or whoever they face is easier than okc
spurs might do the rockets a favor tonight, yet i doubt it. Sad rockets going to go on the road vs denver, another 1st rd exit.
Ime is sitting his 4 main starters. Redick and the Lakers would prefer to face Minnesota in first round rather than the Rockets. Otherwise they’d certainly sit old man Lebron and the rest of their starters tonight.
