Weren't Russ and Harden heavily involved on the Silas decision? Looked how that worked out. I'm by no way advocating for Booker, I have no interest, but just saying.
From what I've read over the years, Booker's relationship with the Suns and the community there seems to be far deeper than Russ and Harden's with the Rockets. But anything is possible.
Yeah, the Rockets under Stone have the better assets but I still felt anything was possible under Caroll Dawson and Daryl Morey than Rafa Stone. Where you could trade a minor All Star in Francis for McGrady at his height and health - a Kobe like presence. And almost spare parts for a 6th Man of teh Year Harden.
Ott had his introductory press conference. Not going to link it here, as folks can easily find it. (on Suns YT channel). His answers were OK? Nothing too revealing. Notes on offense: 'play fast, movement, cutting'. Crash the board for extra possessions. Feels more like emphasis to a young team than an old one with Beal and Book. Defense: 'communciation, stay connected'
Knicks get Brunson back and struggling against a Mavs team without Kyrie, AD, or Flagg. How does Mike Brown keep getting hired?
Remember, no matter how bad things are for you, there's always someone who has it worse... ...unless you're a Kings fan.
I think Jazz fans have it worse but that's how it should be. Kings fans actually deserve sympathy. Besides maybe the Bucks and Bulls, Kings probably have the most idiotic owner in the league.
Utah is in a much better position than Sacramento. Hardy is a better coach. Sacramento organization is constantly letting the Spurs take advantage of them, and Utah has the better, younger players. I'm not sure if Utah will make the play-in next season, but they should be much better than the Kings as long as Kings don't get the number 1 and the Jazz get shafted in the lottery.
The Jazz have a far better outlook going forward. I agree Will Hardy is a good coach, although I doubt he could have done any better with the Kings than Doug Christie has. That is an impossible situation. Right now, I expect the Jazz to make the play-in next season.
Hardy would have played Ellis. I get Ellis has had an off year, but he was still likely worth playing on merit among the Kings not counting needing to showcase him for trade/develop him prior to the trade. I get Ellis is older for his amount of experience, but he's never gotten a good runway to really see if he's a valuable 3 and D player role player or not.
