I doubt they want to give up beef Stu. And their draft picks aren’t gonna be good. Sadly I don’t see them as great trading partners. Maybe a 3-way?

I’m gonna call the kd trade, come back to it in June July.

    Durant to Heat

    Wiggins and Jovich to Rockets

wont be surprised if Rockets attach a pick to it, just because it’s stone.

I don't think Miami makes that deal .... Wiggins opts in, substitute him for Hero.

I think your potential trade issue is that Wiggins will probably opt out, and so be untradeable. That might prevent the lunacy from happening!!

Taking it as a realistic proposition:
Jovic is basically 4 years of dead money they'd be looking to offload. So they would need a sweetener like Ware (which I doubt they would include).
If they did Jovic, Ware and Herro, then they could be bringing in KD to play alongside Bam, Wiggins (resigned), Powell (resigned) and then Jaquez and Mitchell etc on their Heat Culture bench. Pick #13 and Tax MLE to try and turn that into a contender? Worth it?

You’re dealing with Riley. He wouldn’t give up Herro for a 31 year old Harden. I don’t see Ware going either.

I bet Wiggins opts in his 30 mill.

Stone will pull a Oladipo style trade, but get no picks. I hate the fact he looks to find a new home for these players, who cares where they would like to go.

I don’t see Pat giving up two starters for KD & keeping Herro. I think if anything he would just want to swap Herro and KD for the big name until they figure out their next stage. Herro and a pick is about all I think Pat would do. Pick we’d have to fight for lol

we have to hope that Stone is no longer GM and that someone else is negotiating a KD deal.

I definitely wouldn't want that as a return unless they threw in Jaquez and #13.

I think if we are dealing with Miami, #13 is imperative. I would lose my mind if we traded Miami KD and didn’t come away with that pick.

I would say either #13 or Ware. They'd probably rather give up #13, I'd guess?

Looking at the salary for all the teams we've talked about (26-27 rosters), I find it very difficult to find a deal that works.

Detroit - just can't do it, they'd have to combine 3 contracts of players they don't really want to trade. It's Cade at $51m and 3-4 dudes in the $15m range.

Minnesota - the idea would be to add KD to Ant, Randle, Gobert and McDaniels. Maybe you could talk them out of Naz and DiVincenzo but I feel like that's not realistic. Maybe they get desperate? (I'm not taking back Gobert).

Sacramento - Sabonis works money wise but that's a long contract. Wouldn't want to eat that one. No other salary makes sense. If they gave #5 and Sabonis sure but that's not happening?

NYK - KAT, OG, Bridges and Brunson - would they really trade any of them for KD? Otherwise, they can't cobble together the $$.

Washington - They can't make the trade without adding one of AD or Trae, AD I'm not eating that contract $62m in 27/28 guaranteed, Trae sucks but would be an expiring. No other realistic salary combination. The idea would probably be to add KD to those 2 and Sarr .... no matching salary to do that with.

San Antonio - Fox for KD straight up but they just extended him thru 29/30, 4 years, $221,760,000 I'm not touching that. They wouldn't give up any of their young guys ...

Toronto? - RJ Barrett and filler? Brandon Ingram straight up? Why would they do that? Would KD go to Toronto?

Miami - Herro and Ware works but I doubt they do that deal, maybe Andrew Wiggins (expiring) and Ware instead?

GSW - sign and trade for Porzingis? 3 years, first year guaranteed with 2 team options? (signed to the minimum amount needed to facilitate the trade $35,121,951). KD already shot that down? (GSW is the only team with a legit S&T option).

Portland for Jrue (short of matching by $4,439) matching salary? Why does Portland do this?

    Anything I missed?

What deals can you come up with?

Miami is hard to make the money work but doable--might need to be a 3 team trade if it's Herro. Probably the most realistic team to actually want him?

I think the Knicks do make some sense here. Really any of those guys except Brunson. It's bad money though, are their picks worth it?

Philly again is the "eat sh*t and get something back" option. Those are some atrocious contracts though. Will Morey trade with us at all, and if so does the return make any sense?

Jimmy Butler as an expiring contract? Fit is horrible, but you can buy him out if you want--does it make sense to do that? Will KD play for GSW? Will they be willing to give up a decent draft pick?

What about Denver? Timeline makes sense, they have to be getting desperate if they get bounced here. Jokic and probably Murray are out of the question, but might they be willing to send Christian Braun and Cam Johnson? Do we want those guys?

supposedly they were unwilling to trade Ware for KD last summer. It’s doubtful theyd make him available now. But maybe Pat is getting more desperate every yr he ages?

If Cleveland crashes out. Works in trade machine

    Houston in:
    Harden & Mitchell

    Heat in:
    Durant

    Cleveland in:
    Reed, Herro, FVV, DFS, Nets27’, PHX27’, + 2-3 more 1st

You guys think I'm undervaluing KD?

Most of us want him off our team, locker room cancer, turnover machine, doesn't play defense, old as dirt - injury risk .... but we're supposed to get premium assets in return?

He's still really f***ing good, and I hate the guy at this point. A lot of front offices, fans, owners will overlook a lot of bullsh*t if you produce, and fool themselves into thinking "I can fix him". With a coach like Spo, they might even be right.

I don't think we're getting much for him, but he produced at an All-NBA level this season, and he's getting paid less than the max next year. He does have value over contract as a player.

Doesn't work for me. You must be missing something. There's no way to trade KD at over $54M per year for just Herro ($31M) and Dru Smith ($2M).

you watched this season like I did. He’s an elite player. And he was actually in a terrible offense, more unsuited to him than any I can think of. KD has real value to several teams. Obviously not every team. But a good GM should be able to recoup good value for KD. I just wouldn’t let Stone negotiate the deal.
