I need a new Strategy Game

Need some recommendations. I like turn-based strategy the best because I can walk away from it at any time, but I'll try anything.

It can be any platform, although I prefer PC because I can take my laptop anywhere. I've played Civ4 and it's expansions to death. The same with the Heroes of Might and Magic line. I recently played Valkyria Chronicles on PS3, which was fantastic.

It's nasty and rainy here all weekend, so I need something to do between NBA playoff games.

I heard Empire: Total War got rave reviews. I think it is set in colonial times.

Shockwave based space strategy/ defense game... I like it but it doesn't have much replay value other than the game is free.

I still play Age of Empires 3.

Although most of my gaming time goes to Company of Heroes. Love that game.
