My master bedroom is pretty large and is upstairs. It gets pretty warm unless I run the air down at like 72, which unnecessarily chills the rest of the house. I think the problem is the lone vent in the master is just not putting enough air in the room.

The room has pretty significantly vaulted ceilings as well.

Any ballpark figures on what it would take to have someone run some new duct work to put a new vent in the room? Also, any recommendations on who to use?

Try installing a fan to circulate the air better or cool you down.. Install one of those Vent Booster

Good option, but not practical as the vent is pretty far up on the vaulted ceiling and it would take an extension cord hanging down in the middle of my door to get that thing to an outlet.

I understand your pain and actually have a worse case scenario.. My house is almost 30 years old and has horrible duct, insulation (in walls), and windows.. We can't get it under 80 degrees and the damn A/C never goes off. Almost half a dozen A/C repair guys said your house should have had two units instead of one.. Nothing you can do. I was so bummed. And to top it off the Living Room has a HUGE vaulted ceiling.. We have 4 fans running all the time to make it manageable but it still gets hot.. I'm looking at the ductless systems but can't afford 2g's right now.
