Help me pick out a laptop

Alright, I never bought my laptop, but I'm getting ready to, in the next week or so. I'm considering a couple different Lenovos, and an Asus or two.

Which brand makes the better laptop? Both seem to have pretty good reviews. I know Lenovo isn't as highly thought of (outside of the Thinkpad), but it seems I can get more bang for my buck at Lenovo.

I have a 1 yr old Lenovo Z (Intel) and a 2 yr old Sony VAIO (AMD).

never had problems with both. Lenovo is faster since its newer but Sony has better display and sound quality. Might want to compare the display and sound of the Lenovo model your planning to buy to other manaufacturer's equivalent models
