Saleem (Philly): Is is me or is that Larry Hughes deal for $60 mil. looking like a bad one? The Wiz lost him and picked up Butler who is proving to be a better player right now on both ends of the floor.

John Hollinger: At this point, I'd be hard-pressed to name one free agent from a year ago who changed teams whose new team is truly happy right now. Damon Stoudamire played well for half a season and then blew out his knee, and the other guys -- Simmons, Hughes, , Antoine Walker, Eddy Curry, Jerome James, Damon Jones -- have all been huge disappointments. The one guy who wasn't was Joe Johnson, and he cost Atlanta an arm and a leg.

John Hollinger: OK, I came up with one -- Raja Bell. But you get my point. Not a great year for free agents. And this summer is likely to be even worse.

Stro sure could have been on the list.

However, here is the question: if obtainable, would Simmons or Hughes be worth the cost to acquire?

Definitely no way on Hughes. Probably not Simmons. I wouldn't say Simmons is stealing from the Bucks but he ain't worth his salary. Hughes has been a bonafide bust this year and makes the Cavs look dumb. It's very unlikely he will ever have another season anywhere near last year. Shooting 40% from the field is atrocious for a player who is NOT the "go to" guy. He is not a smart basketball player. If he would improve his shot selection, the guy could be a very good 2nd fiddle to LeBron.
