You guys gotta realize we have a cheap asszss owner too that probably told him not make any moves. We had to save him money in the past.
I wouldn’t even take Banchero over Jabari in a re-draft. I think Jabari will be an outstanding role player at a reasonable salary in his career. I think Banchero will be a maxed out journeyman with occasional glimpses of stardom the rest of his career. The very definition of Fool’s Gold.
Yeah. It is debatable who is the overall better player. They are so different. But I'd take Jabari too because of his contract and his game fits easily to any lineup. Banchero can only play as a ball-dominant alpha (and paid like one) but not good enough to build a team around him.
this is such a fallacy. The Nets had to rebuild no matter what. We had total leverage over them. Bridges was not gonna make a difference competitively for the Nets. Plus it’s highly likely they trade Bridges to the Knicks anyway because it was such a Godfather offer. Stone got played. There’s really no denying that. Wish people would just acknowledge the truth of it. the Nets knew they were gonna be bad no matter what. They knew the 2026 draft was generational. They knew they’d have big money the summer of 2026. They knew they were gonna make the Bridges deal with New York. They just needed Stone to play ball…and he did. Followed by a press conference where I thought Stone was gonna start making love to a picture of Sean Marks.
100%. It was always a bad trade and most of us at the time were upset about it. Nets were really in a lose-lose position and were not gonna be good regardless. We had full control and let them off the hook. Insane move.
Wrong. Both Mikal Bridges and Ben Simmons made max contracts and Simmons contract expired in the 2025 offseason. They already have big money this summer just didnt choose to use it and spent it on MPJ cuz they were tanking and wanted a high pick. https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/BRK.html If we kept their pick they would have used that capspace to get help and also they wouldnt have used all 5 of their picks some of those would also be used to get even more help. This is such cope just stop it.
Incorrect. It was a great trade as Nets actually had capspace in the 2025 offseason to build a competitive team. But because they wanna be bad they used their capspace to absorb MPJ max contract as well as drafted 5 rookies in the draft. Just check their capspace other than MPJ they dont have anyone making big money: https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/BRK.html The trade was a great one we would have had a low pick in 2026 and nothing else at least now we still have 3 assets remaining from that trade. 3>1 low-mid frp.
Just looking at some of the rosters of the first day of the playoffs and you see teams like Denver, Minnesota, New York and Cleveland have depth at every position. How could Stone make that trade for KD and keep the roster so thin? Why the **** are Tate, Davidson, Holiday, DFS, Okogie on this team? I know Okogie is an Ime guy but a good gm knows how to talk a coach out of a bad decision, they all suck. Without Adams and Fred, Ime can barely run a competitive eight man rotation and people keep blaming the coaching, this is a very poorly constructed roster and I don't trust the guy that put it together to fix it.
Should have fired his ass when he hired silas and pushed for the kpj pg project which hinder the development of everybody else
nahhh nets were never gonna be good. Having cap space doesn’t guarantee anything. They likely still trade bridges for all those picks especially since they didn’t have their own picks.

It is highly likely the Nets trade Bridges. The Nets would try to rebuild without their picks. The Nets would not tank without their picks. Teams trying to lose would lose more than the Nets. Wish people would just acknowledge the truth of it.
