    with all the hype about harry potter i doubt this will receive much news, but book 7 and final book about the original Dune will be released August 7th. some 20 years in the making, soooo excited :D :D :D

    Last I checked, Frank Herbert was still dead (not sure about Frank Hebert), so I doubt it was him. :p

    yes its by his son, supposedly based off of notes he found 20 years later in some locked up safe...and i enjoyed all of the novels very much, so i would suggest reading them on.

    I'm not really excited, I loved Dune, i also loved dune mesias, and the children of Dune, but to me after that there was a huge drop-off in quality. I'm also not that impressed with the writing of the son.

    Sorry maud'dib, however I do still think Dune is the best SF book.
