Mitchell is a bona fide stud of the right age. We wouldn’t be trading for him to be our Luka. It would be trading for him to try to build a team around him much like a Pistons or even kind of a Celtics build right now.

    3 years down the line……

    Sengun
    Smith
    Eason
    Mitchell/Cam
    Amen

certainly feels to me like a six man core that could be there a few years down the line.

Green,Green, Landale, Tate,#3, future top 10 protected pick is fair.

You are willing to give all of that up for a player that could be a free agent in one year? Seems excessive.

Eh. I hear ya, but in this Scenario, I am assuming that the organization has a pretty good vibe from Mitchell and that Mitchell thinks super highly of Udoka and the vision. Sure there is some risk.

I look at it like this, even in the best case scenario with Jaylen Green we are signing him to a very, very rich deal, and probably not getting him to play quite to the level of Mitchell. I like green, I think that the odds that he will ever be better than Mitchell are not good. So even for Cleveland, they’re just acquiring the hope that they have to pay green a **** load of money.

#3 hurts to give up BUT I think that this roster along with Mitchell, and a couple other additions over the next couple years will be ready to make noise in the playoffs as soon as this coming year. I am not saying they’re going to go to the finals, but I think that this increases the likelihood of them winning a playoff series or two over the next two seasons, and that experience is super valuable.

I don’t want Mitchell to be our best player in three years by that point I am hoping that Sengun, Cam or Amen Have passed him up and built the required depth and star quota to truly compete.

Lastly, a top 10 protected pick is eh. So yes, I would do that deal.

It's the bubble that fooled everybody. I was once a Trae Young believer and it was all because of the facade the bubble created.

Brunson, Mitchell even Lillard to some extent these, "I'll only pass the ball to you when it's a last resort or i'm exhausted" small guards should be banished from the NBA. I don't like watching them, i don't trust them, i don't value them. In the playoffs setting, their efficiency drops massively and they become easy to guard. They represent a culture that doesn't belong in professional sports.

I don't know why Mitchell would think the Rockets represent a better situation for him than the Cavs at this point.

If we trade for him, I'll stop watching the Rockets.

Cavs needed buckets down the stretch yesterday, and they went to Harden, not Mitchell

Mitchell was in the West for years and did nothing…now he’s in the East and still doing nothing so far

had to go 7 games against the Raptors and averaged 23, 5, and 3

if Mitchell is your best player, you’re not a serious contender…and that’s what he would be here

Streaky shooting guards are the single dumbest archetype to build a team around.

Donovan can probably be a solid #3 on a contender. Risky if a #2.

Say with KD gone, on the Rockets he'd be a comfortable #1, which on a fan level I wouldn't care, but there would be a low playoff ceiling on the team.

There are maybe other players who can give slightly less production but at half of Spida's salary. GM has to do the work in seeking it out.

I'm not a Mitchell fan. But you can say the same thing about a lot of the star players who are rumored to be available. If the guy is in his prime and is leading his team to contention, why would he and his team want to part way?

Dreaming of trading for a contender franchise is just that, a dream.

Donovan Mitchell with 4 points in the 1st half

Idk why ancient Harden gets all the smoke when in his prime Mitchell has been so disappointing
