Need to find a Defensive Center. Unfortunately maybe Sengun needs to be traded.

He great offensive center, but he has been exposed, and you probably cant win with him at
Center, maybe as PF, They would need him to make more 3pt shots.

this the same dude who was handling Sengun and was out there comfortable

he averaged a double-double, shot 60% from the field, and locked up “baby Jokic”

Sengun truly embarrassed himself…if he had a girlfriend, she left him for Ayton

The Ayton domination against us was perhaps the most disappointing part of that series.

Ayton found his groove similarly to when he played with Chris Paul.....he is a good offensive Center but not a defensive one.....

He reminds me a lot of another Thunder guy......Ousmane Dieng lol.....without the 3 pointer.

He is all finesse and not physical.

I am coming around to the trade idea of AD and a first round pick from the Wizards for Sengun but I’m fine with keeping Sengun as well.

This Lakers team is horrendous. OKC is playing on cruise control and still winning by 20 in every game.

you think SGA could win with Sengun and Amen in the OKC starting lineup? Or would they just clog up all the lanes, get trapped, and have to rush shots?

Nah, we just WAY overrate our players on this board. Ayton wasn't a superstar, Alpi was just that ****ing shite tbh

Amen would take Dorts or Caruso place and be able to concentrate on defense and scoring in transition- they would kick the **** out of everyone on defense even more badly than they do now

Sengun, who cares? They wouldn't need him. Chet is better and Jaylin Williams is a good backup who has some range, basically an anti Sengun.

No good team actually needs a Sengun - he's too hard to fit around

The thunder are just so much better than the rockets right now.

If we had Ajay Mitchell in these playoffs, he would have been our #1 option - don't even need to mention Shai/Chet/JDub

He wouldn't be the #1 option anywhere, but I think he'd be fine as the #2 or #3 option on a deep, good-shooting, good-defensive team. You could certainly get away with plugging him in for Hartenstein on the Thunder, staggering his minutes with SGA, and letting him be a secondary creator there. He'd also fit okay in a similar role in Boston or maybe New York? I don't think you'd want him in San Antonio because Castle, Fox, and Wemby aren't great shooters, although they could certainly cover for him defensively.

For any of those teams, I guess you could say they don't "need" him, and it's true that you need a pretty specific roster construction for him to work... but for teams who have that already, he could probably help them win. I would certainly be asking around this offseason and seeing what people are willing to give up for him, but let's not forget that we have three more guaranteed years to figure out what to do with him, and I don't know if his value is likely to get worse over time. At worst, you could say "he is what he is, teams know what they're getting". If it were up to me, I might like to see what a better coaching staff could do with him and see if we can get his value up, i.e. by trying to establish a real three point shot, unless we really like some trade offer that comes up.

not what i meant. Let me clarify. If Sengun was the starting center and Amen replaced Jalen Williams in that starting lineup, would OKC be OKC? I would argue they would not in that configuration where your big 3 includes Sengun and Amen. And any team that had both Amen and Sengun starting and part of their scoring core will fail.

Besides Holmgren isn’t their center in most starting lineups. And Dort provides shooting, something Amen simply can’t do. And that’s the crux of the Rockets issues on offense. Not being able to stretch the floor while making it easy for opponents to play zone and stack the paint limiting our playmaking and scoring.

I don’t think so. It’s not about one player and rather the configuration of the team. If you place Sengun in the lineup as a starting center and Amen as a starting 2 or 3 you would run into the same spacing issues as Houston has experienced past 3 years.

SGA with OKC’s real lineup has 3 other shooters in the starting lineup to make a play with. He doesn’t run the offense through Hartenstein. He doesn’t have Amen who needs to be either in the dunker’s spot or with the ball on the perimeter to drive. So his lanes are clear when they play 4 and 1 or 1-4 ISO.

With Sengun he would have to feed him in the post or high post etc to drive or play screen and roll which is exactly what the Rockets have done. He would have to feed Amen on the perimeter or play screen and roll with him as well or feed him off curls or slips which is exactly how Rockets have used Amen. They would blitz SGA and force Amen and Sengun and others to make plays which is exactly how teams play us.

The problem is our personnel and structure. No one can win with Sengun and Amen both being a part of their big 3.
