This team will be better next year if Cenac comes back and Sampson works his transfer magic. Freshmen dont work here. Even the talented ones.
Lath wasn’t gonna play next year. He wants to play. Hope he goes mid-major because he will continue to ride pine at a high tier division 1 program.
Michigan destroying everyone makes this year’s loss less painful. They are a buzzsaw. It’s like that one year Baylor dominated. How great would it be for Houston to have a season like that? But, I’ll take some flukey late season hot streak at this point. Having the most Final Four appearances without winning a national title is painful.
If UConn stumbles into their third title in four years (after close wins against Furman (!), MSU, and miracle shot vs Duke):
He was never going to play here. Wish him sustained health and the best of luck. So what's the current roster looking like (assuming Cenac and Flemings are gone) Mercy Miller Chase McCarty Joseph Tugler Bryce Jackson Kordel Jefferson Arafan Dianne Ikenna Alozie Sampson's got a lot of work to do.
He’s gonna get 2 good ones in the portal. I am curious about Alozie. Jackson/Jefferson are just practice bodies.
Seems like Cenac and KF should calculate the value another year (at least) in the UH program-- in this NIL nonsense era-- might add to their long-term future $ potential. KF would be a potential top pick if he goes full "young DRose" mode and leads us to the championship. Neither of them look lottery level IMHO after our three game losing streak and disappointing tournaments.
Told UH close to getting two huge transfers in Burton and Gillespie. These were the top two targets and would set up a potentially massive year. Burton is an elite scorer and Gillespie is a talented guy that provides what was missing. The staff thinks they get both.
Burton, Gillespie, Hadnot and East are all expected to commit. Anything can happen obviously but they all have expressed a desire to sign.
