i know there was something similar to this posted, but i couldn't find it. maybe it was in one of the many republican primary threads, but whatever. this one is a bit more detailed, and after you finish it has a slider where you can adjust the importance of certain issues. i was somewhat surprised by my results. they're listed below.

i support ron paul, but in the previous candidate match test i took it said i more closely matched fred thompson. this round both from the test, and after i adjusted the sliders, my closest match was huckabee. followed by paul.

    who did you get?

    Ron Paul first
    Fred Thompson second

I don't know who Fred Thompson is. (I don't pay attention)

Used the slider and it didn't change my top two

That was one of the better candidate-match engines I've seen so far on as polish. They still completely miss my criteria for candidates. They matched me with Romney, Biden and Obama. I'll probably be going Obama.

I notice they had no questions about abortion. There might be a high correlation between opinions on abortion and gay marriage, and that's why. But, I think people are selling the power of the abortion issue way too short and will end up surprised.

I agree that's one of the better match games, but: (1) agree with JV about the questions not being comprehensive enough, and (2) some of the questions had no good answers. (e.g. I don't give a flying preference for whether someone has been a governor versus a senator or business owner... I just want to read what the person has done and what they want to do...)

    Me:
    1. Obama
    2. McCain
    3. Biden

    That's very accurate for me...
