    "there's no restrictions"

Let me guess, braindead Udoka benching him and storming onto the court for him shooting a 3 means nothing? Seems like it is a play the coach doesn't want Sengun to make, aka restricted.

Yet again @Stephen_A showing how stupid he is.

Really don’t get Rocket fans fascination with Mobley. By no means a dominant player or generational or franchise type guy. Solid player but not great. This playoffs is evidence of that. How is this man a max player?

I don’t think it’s so much overvaluing Mobley as it’s an indictment on Stone not doing a good evaluation of talent and the reputation of this organization to develop players properly.

Mobley is an integral part on a playoff team while Jalen isn’t even here anymore.

Plus from Stone’s track record, he may not have given Mobley the max.
And to be fair, Mobley’s dad was right to avoid Houston. His sons career is in a better place and they got max money.

That's what Jalen Green was supposed to be doing consistently

Jalen would have had that ball blocked and crumpled to the floor.

I don’t think Rockets fans would support 50 mil to a guy that can’t get 20 a game. Has issues on offense and doesn’t move any needle. A solid player with fundamentals yes but 50 mil for a guy that’s just solid? Rockets fans would once again yell fire stone if that happened.

Speaking of the cavs, how many of their lottery picks panned out? They had multiple picks for several years and traded all of them except for Mobley. (Sexton, Garland, Okoro). They went out and got stars (Mitchell, Harden) and vets (strus, Schroeder) because their draft picks were busts or not good enough. Did they rebuild after failed picks? No that’s crazy of course they didn’t and almost no teams do this. Rockets should follow this approach of obtaining dominant players to build on what we want to keep whether it’s Thompson or smith or Sheppard etc.

I wonder what a Castle Amen duo would look like. They may be the real terror twins and wreak havoc.

And I wonder if JG, Castle, Amen could work with Jabari and a defensive lob threat center. That’s an explosive fun team with defense and can get to the paint. Prob not championship level. JG would have to be replaced by a better 2 guard.

But still what could have been.

Mobley is not a star but a good solid player. Jalen is less than that as of now. (And doubt he will have the necessary IQ and mental maturity aspect to become a star).

Castle is ahead of reed as of now but in year 4-5 could be a different story. (Castle having higher floor but reed may have higher ceiling)

That lineup would be awful due to spacing. 1 average 3pt shooter (Bari), 2 below average (JG and Castle), 2 lousy (Amen and presumably the lob threat).

Amen, Castle, and Bari together could be really good but you'd need the perfect lineup with them to potentially compete for a title. Elite 3pt shooter as the other guard and a center who can ideally protect the paint, hit 3s, and finish lobs. Basically Mobley, Chet, or Wemby.

I disagree. That lineup would be difficult to guard. 3 guys that could get to the paint any time they want and 3 playmakers. Castle could be the primary point playing off high screens with the center, Amen in dunker spot. Or screen and slips with Amen. If any of these guys get kickouts they would drive on hard closeouts on baseline or perimeter all day. Not to mention incredibly furious fast breaks. What could have been.

Stretch 5 could work I agree. They should still move JG for more efficient shooter and scorer but that lineup itself would be very fun to watch and hard to defend

They missed but they didn’t really miss.

Mobley’s fine but he’s not carrying the Cavs and certainly not $30M better than Jabari.

And Castle’s good but no shot as in zer0% percent he develops his shot here (in just the 2 short years the way he has in San Antonio). It’s a running joke, Houston is where shooters go to die.

And no, that’s not me coping, dismissing, downplaying them. They’re good players. Would they be good players here? Same players they are here? Or would we still be saying “We have no franchise player(s). Fire Stone!”

But you know what, maybe Evan Mobley & Vic Gumby were right when one refused to work out here and the other gave a good first pump when he learned he wasn’t coming to Houston.

Mobley didn’t work out for any teams and reportedly wanted to go to OKC. That didn’t happen and he sucked it up and played for Cavs. If Rockets drafted him it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t play for us. Jabari only worked out for OKC and Orlando. Likewise Jalen only worked out for Detroit and Hou.

I don’t think Mobley is worth 50m, but I do think he is a better fit than Sengun on this team. I would trade Sengun and Reed for him in a second, but Cleveland wouldn’t do it.
