I'm surprised that issue with older apps has not been brought up before in any reviews etc. If it just stretches out the app to the new aspect ratio that will probably mess up the resolution and not look as clean as it does on a 4s with Retina.

If anything they will probably have black borders around the right and left or bottom and top depending on how you hold it so it maintains the correct aspect ratio and resolution. At least until everyone upgrades their apps.

The major companies in the app game will already have been working on a fix for it and they should be okay sooner rather then later.

In the event, they said that older apps were automatically letter boxed with black borders.

Quick questions is there any point of waiting in line for the iphone 5 at one of houston's apple store in the galleria or willowbrook? Do they normally sold out? Want to buy it outright

Just preorder it. They shipped 4s straight to me and I got it the day it launched.

Im in Houston,Tx. .Carrier is Verizon...Does preorder begin at 12am cst?

Thanks sadly im buying this for my grandma. Should be easy for her to use but in other news related to the iphone 5

iPhone 5 on Verizon Wireless won’t support simultaneous voice and data

Verizon Wireless (VZ) has confirmed to BGR that the iPhone 5 will not support voice and data at the same time, even over 4G LTE. This is a little odd as Verizon’s 4G LTE devices all support simultaneous voice and data, but it won’t be in the iPhone 5 on Verizon.

iPhone 5 was designed to allow simultaneous voice calling on the Verizon Wireless network while browsing the Internet over WiFi. This is no different from the current iPhone 4S. For further details, check with Apple.

It seems that the reason is due to the fact that the devices that support voice and data on 4G LTE all use two radios, one for data on 4G LTE and one for voice on CDMA. The iPhone 5 actually does feature two radios, but it uses both to get the best signal possible and is not able to switch between LTE and CDMA at the same time. This could eventually be resolved in the future when all voice communication is done over 4G LTE, but until then, it is a no go for Verizon Wireless and the iPhone 5.

This could be a deal breaker, folks. AT&T… will you take me back?

Sprint confirms iPhone 5 is not compatible with its HD voice service

One of the new features in Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 5 is wideband audio, more commonly known as HD voice. The technology dramatically improves call quality by extending the frequency range of audio signals transmitted over cellular networks. Sprint (S), thus far, is the only carrier in the U.S. who supports the service, however the company has confirmed to Phone Scoop that the iPhone 5 won’t work with its HD voice technology. While the majority of carriers that support the protocol do so on a WCDMA network, Sprint’s HD voice service is operated over CDMA 1X Advanced technology. Apple claimed that 20 carriers around the world would initially support the feature, but unfortunately it is now clear that none of those carriers are located in the U.S.

Correct.

When I preordered my iphone 4 I actually got it on the day before. I went down to the mall and recorded people in line on launch day. Got called an A-Hole.

So worth it.

Im not familiar with Iphone releases as Ive always had and Android device....if I dont order at 2am is it safe to say they will sell out if I order round say 7am?

Good question. I'm thinking they don't sell out, you just have to wait longer to get your phone. I could be wrong though.
