Amen on a max is a fireable offense, but if we’re picking between Amen or Sengun this offseason, I’m for sure picking Amen without hesitation we’ll see what blockhead Stone ends up offering him
You can only Max Amen if you believe he is a full time "on ball guy." If not, you can't. I think a good analog for Amen is the Jalen Johnson deal that was 5/150. I think that is a perfectly good starting point. It is fair.
Do you have anything to support your argument other than personal attacks? Or will you just be throwing more feces?
He’s not eligible for the super max, but he will get the rookie max unless he decides to take the injury insurance of taking less this year. We will have to see what, if any, moves the Rockets make this off-season to see how the cap and apron rules are affected before they will decide what to offer him. If it’s less than the max, my bet is he will turn it down and the Rockets will cave. The prospect of losing your only potential superstar is way too big a gamble for any GM. See the Banchero and Mobley contracts for instance and I don’t like either player and think they have a lower ceiling, but higher floor than Amen. Look what Utah was forced to be Laura to not lose him for nothing.
Oh so you’re serious now. Well okay then. My b. I didn’t know firing off knee jerk posts during a game thread was the definition of being a fan, but I thank you for educating me. Here I thought being born and raised in a city, watching a team for over 30 years — dating back to watching Dream with my dad as a kid — and watching 70+ games a year even tho I live in Berlin, meant I’m a fan. Thanks for clearing that up. I’ll try to post more often and be more obnoxious, like you, and maybe then I’ll be a fan.
He's better than Jabari (more consistent and better D) and has higher upside than him. So he'll get a bigger contract. I would put him as a similar caliber player as Mobley, Barnes, and OG. They're not guys you build your offense around, but they're all additive players. You don't need to run plays for them, but they always consistently contribute every game. Mobley got a $270 mil contract. Barnes got $250. OG got $212. Fair market for Amen is +$200 mil
Yes, because making up something like that makes a lot of sense. Good thing we have you to pass judgment on who are fans or not. Keep up the good work.
I honestly don’t think referencing something you did earlier on this thread when you went out of your way to say your takes are based on facts is a personal attack. But in general I take your point. I have chirped at you more than you probably deserve and will chill out on that. We can agree to disagree. Go Rox.
You talk a great talk, aint no proof though. I've got thousands of posts live at 3am in game threads, you aint got **** but talk. So before you start casting aspersions on other people's fandom and being "a casual" look in the mirror and realise you're the one with no evidence, you don't bring ANYTHING to the table on the forum outside of a random one liner with no substance to people who do every now and then. One search of your post history shows that. Back in your box, casual.
When did I cast aspersions on anyone else’s fandom or call anyone a casual? Are you confusing me with somebody else? Also, I really don’t give a sh*t, but since you have made this some kind of weird competition, I’d say that my comment-to-like ratio is much higher than yours, so I’d say my one liners aren’t too bad.
This is the craziest, random casual dudes throwing out insults and bullshit and getting sand in their vagina because I just don't want to pay Amen the max. That's it. Don't want to trade him. Would keep him over Sengun. But because this random dude thinks the sun shines out of his rear end at less than 30% from deep as a "PG" he starts attacking? Nope. **** outta here. Paying Amen the max is ****ing crazy talk until he gets basic offensive skills for a guard.
You literally did that to me several pages back, and now you're getting upset when I throw it back at you? Dude, how can you forget your own activity when there's almost none of it to remember? Put down the ****ing crack pipe man.
I never called you a casual or said you weren’t a fan. I questioned your understanding of the game. 2 different things.
Just me badly worded agreeing with you tbh and getting annoyed at the casual troll guy at the same time. I've ignored him now, my bad.
I think that is a good analogy... which updated for today would be 20-22% of the cap or 5 years, $190-$200 million.
Just to reiterate for the morons saying "it's clear you don't understand the game" here's Amen vs Scottie Barnes. As a reminder "defensive specialist" Amen Thompson averaged 1.5 steals and 0.6 blocks per game, Scottie Barnes averaged 1.4 steals and 1.5 blocks per game and was 5th in DPOY voting. Now let's look at the other end of the ball. One of these guys has the shot profile of a 90's backup center. The other is Scottie Barnes. Make it make sense. Temu Scottie Barnes may even be an insult to Scottie.
