I did. Not saying I don’t have doubts about CJ — this year is make or break IMO. Just saying calling a college QB a lot better than him in a declarative statement as if it were an indisputable fact is a bit much.
Not just the last 4 games. He really only had 4-ish good games on the season. Heavily weighted his overall numbers
CJ played ONE BAD GAME and 1 decent game with weird fumbled snaps from the shotgun. All of sudden he can’t play. Yes, he last 2 seasons were not at same level as his rookie year. The Oline, hurt weapons played a HUGE part of that. If he was on the open market, CJ would get $55 million a year to sign because of his age alone and 3 playoff wins in 3 seasons. Some of you are just clueless. But hey, CJ needs to improve also. We will see…
Amigo, he single-handedly lost us the playoff game. And squandered a top defense of all time. With merely an average QB, we are in the Super Bowl.
It's amazing that we were watching the same games and if other teams want to pay him let them. Are we still on the he's young train going into yr 4 with his concussion issues?
I’ve seen Tom Brady running from phantoms when hit enough, it will happen to any qb that gets his bell rung too much. Our line, our running game, our pass protection, have been disastrously bad. CJ was not able to overcome this whereas a more athletic guy might have stood a chance. I am just gonna hope for the best right now. I love, at least conceptually, what we’ve done this offseason and with the draft. I choose optimism. LFG
He didn't lose that game by himself. 7 points off his turnovers. The lack of run game (including a key fumble by Marks in the 3rd), missing weapons and Olinemen. The Defense gave up 21 points all on their own. CJ's performance was the #1 issue, but he help losing that game.
How many QB's have played with a defense like the Texans? 3yrs of NFL experience going on 4 yrs. Odds of CJ becoming anything more than mediocre are slim. But hey, I admire your fandom.
You understand that you don't win in this league without offense? You have to be good at Passing or running. The Texans weren't good at either, primarily because of the offense line and injuries to weapons. Has nothing to do with Fandom, it is reality. The Texans' offense wasn't good enough, I don't care what QB was back there. And No, Mills would not have won that game because there was no run game and he would have been playing handicapped by missing weapons in the passing game too. Drop that fantasy.
We disagree with what the primary problem is. After seeing how bad CJ was the last four games of the season only fandom would make you think he's the future at the QB position for the Texans. As far as Mills goes I don't get why you even brought him up? Could they have won that game with Mills starting the 2nd half, we will never know. What we do know is they were never going to win the Pats game with CJ at QB. He was historically bad and you still hold out hope that he's the future. Only blind fandom would believe this could happen.
