I'm normally in favor of trading down to get more picks for the future.

But I also want the Texans to get the most talented players they can to win now while they have such an elite defense.

So maybe if they traded down while also getting additional 2026 picks that would be preferable.

I hope we aren't looking back in the next 5-10 years and saying how the Texans repeatedly wasted one of the best defenses ever.

"Teams interested in the tackle group that are selecting behind Detroit include Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Kansas City, New England, Cleveland, and Miami (if they don’t use their first pick on a tackle). I can’t confirm they’re all specifically making calls, but don’t be surprised if one of those teams makes an aggressive move up the board Thursday night."

Houston visited with Max Ihenachor & Kadyn Proctor who are potential top 20 picks as OTs.

I trust Demeco to address effort issues. This guy is likely top 10 if he played up to his talent this season.

I hope we trade down and end up with both Juniors: Anthony Hill Jr. (favorite in this draft) and Harold Perkins Jr. (he checks boxes).

If we add them to WAJ and DSJ - we'd have three levels of dawg in our Juniors.

I didn't include Kelly on my list... but another guy that if his arms were 2 inches longer, he would be being talked about as an athletic marvel

He plays a lil stiff (giggity), but at that size it's acceptable (TWSS)

Which players do you NOT want early in this draft?
    - TEs Sadiq or Stowers = IMHO rocked up WRs who cannot block (we have enough non-blockers)
    - IOL Bisontis (short arms & lack of elite movement) or Pregnon (just not feeling it... but I've been wrong before... many... Many... MANY times)
    - Edges Faulk, Mesidor, Parker, Young, Jacas, or Howell (just not crazy about any of those guys... all just meh IMHO)
    - IDL McDonald, Miller, Woods, or Hunter (just not crazy about these guys either... how many times are the top tier IDL hyped up and it's some mid-round guy who outworks them)
    - CB Terrell (could be another Kamari.... could be overhyped because of his brother)

I'm interested to see the veteran QB activity on Draft Day. Does Will Levis, Anthony Richardson, or Mac Jones end up being traded for picks this year? The Titans have 4 QB's on their roster (Tribusky, Hooker, Ward, Levis).

If we draft Kenyon Sadiq, he would be the fastest offensive player on the roster iirc. That’s speed we desperately need. If someone like Sean McVay drafts him, watch out. But this is an overall weaker draft than normal, not crazy to be unimpressed with a lot of the prospects.

I think McDonald is a lock to be an excellent DT for years to come. I think there is a 40% chance that he'll be available at 28.

Fwiw...Sadiq's game grades from PFF were generally poor to mediocre against good teams. His blocking grade in his last college game versus Indiana in the playoff was a putrid 30. With that said, it might be hard to pass on him if he's available at 28. Maybe he'll blossom into a mutant - or not.

Yep if he's there at 28 you have to take him. Gibbs type speed at TE is insane

This is the situation that I posted about earlier. It is highly likely that the Texans will be in talks with teams to move up during the draft for OT Blake Miller. These trades are hard to predict, because the other teams are waiting to see which players to fall to them. Blake will not make it past the Eagles at 23.

If the Texans are not able to execute a trade-up for Blake Miller, I expect the pick to be LB Jacob Rodriguez. The Cowboys are also hot on Rodriguez and may take him at 20. I have a hunch that Rodriguez came in on top 30 visit, and that Aaron Wilson did not report it for a quid quo pro later on. If you ask Wilson who he thinks the Texans will pick at 28, he'll say it's Rodriguez.

Rodriguez will be #1 jersey sold in the NFL if he plays for the Cowboys.

If the Texans don't have alot of glaring needs, and other teams do, that dynamic would lend itself to trading up if the right player is still available.

Miller and Rodriguez are both guys I'm really high on, so I'd be ecstatic with either outcome. If we draft Miller, I could see us trade Fisher for a later round pick. It would be funny if we trade to 19 having everyone believe its for Miller and then draft Rodriguez before Cowboys pick. There's some poetic justice in that move.
