We're simpatico on the above. I believe Rutledge will go sooner than the mocks have him. Make him back up OG and groom him at OC as well.

I also believe there is value at DT in middle of the draft.

    Additional thoughts on the Draft.

The degenerative knee issue with Jermod McCoy was leaked several weeks ago. Many teams expect McCoy to need a 2nd surgery. It's highly unlikely that McCoy will be selected in the 1st round. Like Will Johnson from last year, I'd expect McCoy to go late 2nd, early 3rd round.

The workout for Avieon Terrell was not a success. Teams will cool on Terrell and I expect Terrell to also go later that expected.

What this means for the Texans is that 2 more prospects that the Texans were interested in maybe pushed up higher in the draft.

I don't believe Iheanachor is in play for the Texans at 28. Texans are real big about their grades and most draft analysts have Iheanachor ranked higher because of team needs. With the Texans, if they have for example, a Colton Hood or Omar Cooper with a higher grade at 28, then they would go with the player with the higher grade. I also expect Kayden Proctor to be off the Texans because of character concerns.

Lance Zeierlien mentioned this morning on his show that the Texans were doing additional work on KC Concepcion. Dell has only one year left on his contract and will he and what level will Dell be able to play this year.

The Texans will be interested in a DT this year and a lot of analysts believe that there will not be a DT selected in the 1st round. The Bears and Bills both have interest in a DT and select 24 and 25. Would the DT they are interested still be available after their picks?

The Wide Receive Rankings this year is really bazaar. All the attention is going to Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, and Jordyn Tyson. Carnell Tate is almost identical to Jayden Higgins who was selected at the top of the 2nd round last year. So why is being mocked in the top 10 this year? Jordan Tyson is injured, and his playing style will lead to more injuries in the future. Not for me. Makai does not have the speed and burst that you would want from a inside smaller WR that is projected to go in the 1st round. The 2nd tier of Wide receivers that is not ever talked about will have better careers in the NFL. I'm talking about Denzel Boston, Omar Cooper, KC Conccpcion, and De'Zhaun Stribling.

Yes, I do like him... but I would not trade up for him...

Some of the players out of our range (e.g. Styles).... I would trade up for (like 15 - 20 range)

I think we're locked in at safety for 2 more years

No trade is available. Who do you pick here at 28? I say Christen Miller.

Again? Who would you take at 28? I took Proctor because I believe his upside is too massive to pass on and then I decided to roll the dice on Caleb Banks for the same reason.

OK Nick, time to cook baby. I hope we are going all in for this year and as much as I would like to draft an OL for the future, I am more inclined to go DT on someone who can start from day 1 and make an impact and make this D even better.

I have a feeling Nick will trade back and try and get an additional 2nd and I think there is an outside chance he swings for the fence, gives up next year's #1 to move up for Sadik

I would go Hood or Zion Young in that scenario. It really depends where the Texans see value in the draft. Do they think they can get a CB in the 2nd or 3rd they like? Same goes for edge rushers. I like both the Michigan guys which should be 2nd or maybe 3rd rounders.

Based on the depth at certain positions I want 3 of the top 4 picks to go towards CB, Edge, and Center.

I like the depth better at linebacker and DT so those can come later.

The Jordan Tyson to Giants at 5 smokescreen has started. So it was believed beforehand that the Giants were most likely taking Styles, but could also be interested in Downs. On Friday, Tyson has his workout and the Giants take Tyson out for dinner and make sure to be seen and known that they are in love with Tyson. Then the rumors of Dallas trading up with Arizona to number 3 pick this weekend happened to select their biggest need at linebacker (Sonny Styles). Now it's being leaked that the Giants love Tyson and will be their selection at 5. Hmmm....
