It is certainly possible. They have been linked pretty heavily with both. We have strayed away from spending high dollars or draft capital at the position in the Caserio/Demeco era, which tends to me leaning towards us waiting until the 3rd.
I have absolutely no idea what they will do, but I do think there is an advantage to staying in the 1st round because of the fifth year option. So even if they trade down, I would prefer it to be to 29, 30, 31 or 32. This was just used to extend both CJ and WAJ through 2027. Value consists of both productivity and Time under control. And hopefully, we select well and the 5th year options are always financially viable. If fact, if the market trend is to trade down, perhaps we trade up for a second or even third round 1 pick. We've always been trend setters rather than trend followers.
Time for Nick to cook baby, I think Nick has a move or two up his sleeve..............I would not be mad if he trades the later round picks to somehow move up and get a certain TE but being practical, I think he moves back a few spots and picks up an additional 3rd round pick for value. I am excited to see what they do
Presented with no further discussion... other than they both wear #99 (although NO ONE should ever wear #99 again in Htown kolors) https://ras.football/ras-compare/?&p1=30474&p2=9391&pos=DT If you cannot see, it compares the RAS of Jordan Van Den Burg (10) vs J.J. Watt (9.98). Blasphemy!?! I know.. but still kind of interesting
I hope that we field DT's that are stout against the run. McDonald and Miller appear to fit that bill.
One of my favorite watches on the Kentucky offensive line. LT Shiyahz Pete looks similar to Memphis OT Travis Burke as a prospect Plays angry and through the whistle. 6'8 and 320 lbs. Should be a late Day 3 draft pick or a UDFA. Not a good rep on the clip above, but shows flashes on tape.
Blake Miller is frequently unavailable in the mocks that I have done. Is he a bigger need than Christen Miller, Kayden McDonald, or possibly someone else? In this mock I was able to get Miller at 28 and McDonald was available at 38.
I love mocks. But the reality is that they do not predict the draft well after the first round and there are surprises even in the first.
I don't believe Cleveland likes Fano or Proctor. Just so you know, Cleveland does a good job of keeping their draft strategy locked down. If there's a leak, it's because they leaked it themselves on purpose (normally through McShay types to provide some drama) Cleveland wants a LT. They are looking to draft WR Carnell Tate and then select either Freeling or Miller.
