Personally, I would rather not take an offensive lineman early. But if I'm putting on my GM hat and making draft decisions then Miller would make a lot of sense. Vega Iloane (who has a higher grade) would make a lot of sense for a trade up too if he falls enough. I don't see how Iloane would get past Baltimore at 14 and a trade would take a lot of draft capital to move up that high. Starting tackles are expensive if they are available in the free agent market and are rarely available after the 1st round. If I'm the GM and looking at the Texans for the next four years and managing the salary cap for a stacked roster, then selecting a tackle in the 1st would seem very likely. Braden Smith is an aging veteran that has dealt with a lot of injuries (in addition to Trent Brown). A starting DT, LB, and edge player can be selected later in the draft.
I can see a TE in the draft, not sexy but Dalton has a little life in him, not sure what to expect with the guy we got from the Saints. I have no clue if Jordan is any good and Cade is OK, if we do draft a TE I someone isn't going to make the 53 man and I think Jordan would be the odd man out
The Texans never leak their plans or anything. Nobody still knows wtf happened to Joe Mixon. I don't know anything about the player, but not buying this.
I wasn't a big fan of Keldric Faulk, but i'm coming around to start to like him and how the Texans would use Faulk. He won't ever provide gaudy production, but he will rush as a 3 technique on passing downs, and outside in obvious run situations. This a bad draft for 3 technique defensive tackles so I could see pick 28 as a spot where the Texans would select him. If he's there at 28. He's a high character guy and there are a lot of rumors that Faulk will go in the top 20.
