I'm looking at 140.Ephesians Prysock CB Washington who is a hybrid CB/N/LB playing STAR CB as a fit whose grading is a system failure, not a player failure. Another is a swing OT/OC 188.Trey Zuhn III OC Texas A&M who seems like a promising depth floor player and possibly an OC starter project.
I'm not a real big fan of hybrids. The prospect needs to be really good at least one position. With Zuhn, his arm's are too short to play tackle, too narrow a body type to play guard, and too tall to play Center. He's projecting more as a Center, but Center is a leverage position and Zuhn's over 6'6 and he's lining up against 330 lb bowling balls.
I emphasis that hybrids need to fit the system. But when they do, there is value beyond the narrow boundaries of statistics.
All NFL teams have known about the incident for months and have already made their decisions on whether to keep Bains on their draft board or not. That blows my mock draft. Sheesh.
I like him a lot and have been taking him at #38 in mock drafts. He's a playmaker and we need a linebacker with those skills.
He reminds me a bit of another Texas Tech LB from back in the day--Zach Thomas. Thomas was 5'11" but a little heavier than Rodriguez. However, they both have that playmaking gene.
Did you see Zuhn playing against the Horns last year at the C position? He actually played very well. He doesn't have the feet to play OT at the NFL level IMHO.
