[Schultz] The expectation among many NFL teams is that the 2026 draft will be one of the more trade-heavy drafts in recent memory, according to multiple league sources.
The Cardinals are going to mess up everybody's mock drafts. The consensus is Mendoza at 1. Bailey at 2. The Cardinals could go Edge or OT at 3. A lot of analysts are predicting the Cardinals to trade the #3 pick. One of the teams mentioned to trade up with the Cardinals is the Chiefs who want an Edge rusher. If the Cardinals trade the #3 pick to the Chiefs then they could acquire the 29th pick from the Chiefs in the trade and select Simpson. Or they could wait and select Simpson at 34. As it's looking more and more like the Cardinals are the only team interested in Simpson in the 1st 2 rounds. Simpson is a developmental QB who only started 15 games in college. Next year's draft is loaded with QB talent. Other teams mentioned in trade up situations with Cardinals are the Cowboys and Buccaneers. Washington is also looking to trade back. They do not have a 2nd round pick.
Tackle Max Iheanachor (Arizona State) and guard Keylan Rutledge (Georgia Tech) are names to circle as possibilities on Day 1 and Day 2.
Supposedly Steelers also interested in Simpson (as are Rams)... depends on Rogers in PIT, not sure about Rams
I read that.... I think if we do get a tackle... it will be late or UDFA as they would be developmental totally onboard with Rutledge tho in 2nd / 3rd (hearing he could in 1st tho???)
