Kayden McDonald seems to be the most common mock draft pick at 28, which means some team will jump ahead of us to take him
I am confident we trade down with AZ IF Simpson is still there.. but I would take Banks (foot injury and all) before most of the DTs at the top of the draft
30 Visit: ✅ Team Captain: ✅ Conference: ✅ Pre-Draft Meeting: ✅ Position of Need: ✅ Some other players who could fit this criteria if they receive a 30 visit: TE Oscar Delp (Georgia) TE Marlin Klein (Michigan) C Parker Brailsford (Alabama)
Derek Robertson the QB from Monmouth is interesting. He has a live arm, and good size. Did well at the Hula Bowl. Very similar prospect to Garrett Nussmeier. Would be a good camp invite.
I can understand McDonald at 28 or 38, but definitely not Christen Miller. I'd take Christen Miller at 59 or 69. Christen Miller has 1.5 sacks the past two years and averaged 25 tackles. Only one pass deflection, no force fumbles. Christen is a prospect that pushes the pocket but doesn't add much else. At picks 28 and 38 you need to select players who have traits and produce. Rotational 1 technique prospects are rarely selected in the 1st round or early 2nd. McDonald will be selected in the 1st round because he has awesome production and can stay on the field longer. In 2025 McDonald had 65 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 1 PD. It's a big difference.
I doubt he's our pick as I believe we don't want developmental players at the top of the draft. That's only my guess. I certainly may be mistaken.
A trade back would be the best scenario if possible. I feel like the offensive tackles will be gone and the DT's they want are also off the board.
McShay believes there’s gonna be a massive run on OT and DE in the first bc the drop off is significant in later rounds. Named his top 14 and Sadiq was not in. The proposed trade by Sean Pendergast and John Harris about us trading up with Minn if Sadiq falls is starting to look possible.
