He did give us some hella good times tbf. Should retire it which I think they will otherwise Tari woulda wore 13?
He’s the second greatest Rocket of all time and brought us the most success we’ve had since the 90s. If Harden’s jersey is not retired then they might as well take down everyone’s except for Hakeem.
Everyone else got us to the Finals or brought us China money. And Moses Malone was the 2nd best Rocket player ever - Prove me wrong
I don’t have to prove nothing. The onus is on you to prove Hayes is the 2nd best Rocket of all time when Harden objectively achieved more than Hayes in every metric.
Meant Malone and Malone got us to the Finals. If T-Mac didn't make the retired jersey list then Harden won't. Guilty!
Denver will no doubt retire Joker's Number, that is a given but what about Jamal Murray or Aaron Gordon.....
I say let’s see how Harden’s career ends. He’s got a few more seasons to continue to make an a$$ out of himself so you might not want that jersey stinking up the rafters years from now. But statistically and relevantly speaking yes of course you should retire his number at some point.
Harden is a top 30 all time player, if you’re not retiring his jersey then you HAVE to take down everyone except dream
As a Rocket.... 9 seasons 29.6* / 6.0 / 7.7 3x Scoring Champ** 1x Assist leader*** 1x MVP 6x All-NBA 1st team**** 8x All-Star '18 Franchise best record 2x Conference Finals * franchise-high average ** only two players in franchise history with any (Hayes-1) *** only player **** tied for most in franchise history (Hakeem) His assists is prob franchise-high too The departure was contentious and in-season, plus he had numerous embarrassing playoff failures, but he's done more than enough for his number being retired.
Harden wouldn't even play half of his career in Houston by the time he retires and no Finals. HOF is for those who helped the organization get past a point that others couldn't take them. Harden no go
There are a lot of really really dumb takes on this forum. This one is definitely up there as far as just pure stupidity. If the rockets took down yao, moses, clyde, and all those other numbers then you could make a case, though harden is better then all those guys.
https://olympics.com/en/news/all-time-list-retired-numbers-jerseys-nba-pau-gasol There’s the list of all the players who have their jersey retired and for what team. If you read through that list and think Harden’s shouldn’t/wont be retired you are crazy.
You don't follow the "Took us to the Finals" philosophy I suppose. No worries. Not everyone is smart enough to get it.
You're comparing a 0-time MVP, 2nd round virgin, who never led the league in anything to James Harden. Weak argument, but carry on. Moses is still arguably the Rocket's 2nd greatest player, but his case isn't clearly better, and it's nowhere near the gap between Harden and McGrady.
