Certainly can't accuse @Clutch of not being consistent:
    • Wouldn't even have picked Sengun at 24
    • Came up with a bunch of trade proposals before the last draft to trade Sengun to move up in the draft, e.g. to get Ivey (who by the way is older than Sengun)
    • Wanted Bruno to start over him
    • Thinks he'll be shopped this offseason
I hadn't realized this started before he got drafted. Just stumbled upon this post.

    To each his own.

"Wanted" is a bit too strong. I think he said that the coaching staff planned on starting Bruno and he understood the rationale. He did get some push back in that thread, IIRC.

Yeah, Clutch isn't very high on Sengun. But he did make a Senhub t-shirt!

Still the top article on the mobile site.

    Clutch was right.

He didn't shoot well from range in his first season. This year, he is up to 33.3% from three (small sample size). (3-point specialist Jabari shot 30.7%.)

So at least he is trending in the right direction.

I might be one day, but it is impossible for you to say that today.

You appear butthurt that the team made a run with him benched. Just be thankful this basket case of a season is over and let's see what an actual coach can do for these guys??

Yes. And you can't play Green, KPJ and KMartin with him because those 3 are not good defenders.

    Long term.

    1) James Harden sucks
    2) James Harden eliminated in 2nd rd again
    3) James Harden not welcome in H town

Until we get a coach that holds them responsible for playing D, we have no clue how good they will be on that end.

Lol … the entire forum is one for one at this point! Anyone who didn’t see this coming has been asleep at the wheel for most of the rebuild! One thing is to tank and another to be absolutely clueless while doing it! No one can smile away a crappy job!

Highly respect Clutch’s view, but I hope he’s dead wrong on his prediction on Alpi! He’s a keeper in my opinion!!!

    Go Rockets!!!

trading Sengun just makes sense if we have a bunch of luck this off-season. Im not even sure it should be considered controversial at all.

Lets say we have a rumored perfect off-season where we:
    Land Wemby
    Sign James Harden
    Sign Top Coach Candidate

we would then have a small amount of cap space too, and would most likely want to trade for an impact player. It would seem our weakness is the Wing, so lets say we try and trade for O.G. Anunoby, would you not be willing to include Sengun in those talks? Of course you would.

    Harden
    Green
    OG
    Jabari
    Wemby

is worth losing out on Sengun, unless you think he will be as good as Jokic or better, and the team doesnt seem to think that,

I’d entertain Sengun in a trade offer for Brown or Bridges, but wouldn’t trade Sengun straight up for O.G. We don’t really need another SF unless they are absolutely one of the tops in the league.

When talk about trading someone, it's always about WHAT we are getting by trading him. So the question should never be "Should we consider trading X?" It should always be "Should we consider trading X for Y?"

Sengun's potential has a wide range. It's not surprising to me that different people rate him very differently. To me, if we can trade him for an established star, you do it. You should always prefer a sure thing over a potential unless the potential is otherworldly good. I am still not sure if Sengun will be otherworldly good. To trade him for some middling vet is probably too risky because he has the potential to be much more than a middling player. Trading Sengun for some unknown pick is even more risky, definitely not worth it unless it's moving up to #1.

I think this is about where I'm at. (It would also depend on which established star, there are certainly "star players" I would not trade Sengun for.)

I would trade him for Scoot Henderson straight-up. But I see Scoot as a #1 pick-caliber player. Some may not be as high on him as I am and that's fine.

My 3 new predictions for the off-season (not counting Silas which I think everybody was predicting).

    1. We sign Harden.
    2. We don’t get a top 2 pick and trade the pick plus the 25 swap, 26 brooklyn pick, 27 swap for Bridges.
    3. We trade some of our bench plus the 20th pick for a backup center.

    Starting Line-up:
    Harden
    Green
    Bridges
    Jabari
    Sengun
