I was watching the 1991 All-Star game on ESPN Classic this AM.

    A couple of things:
Craig Biggio was making his first all-star appearance as a catcher.

The NL was the visiting team - which obviously means they wear their road uni's.

The uni that Biggio was wearing was an off white and had Astros written across the jersey with the rainbow on the shoulder. Ok I know that this was the HOME uniform during that time, but as I recall during that time it was also their ROAD uniform as well.

    So the question is:
Why the hell didn't we have road gray for our uni's during this time??

Does this further solidify as John McMullen as the biggest cheapskate owner ever???

During the Rainbow-on-the-sleeves-only era, the Astros home unis were white and the road unis an off-white. The road grays did not come into play until the Navy/Gold color scheme was introduced in '94.

Check out this Baseball Uniform Database.

It looks like there were some years that they did go with the same unis, home or away. That or i need to fix my monitor.
