Why would Denver want to pay Lin and Miller? Also why would we go to a no point guard system in our starting line up? The kid only played in 38 games and yeah he shot 40% from 3 but the total numbers were 22 makes on 54 shots. Not much of a sample size. You could argue that we gave J Lin the reins of the team with less experience but he was at least playing his position and now he's had a year under his belt.
How so? This one I don't agree with. His shooting range, rebounding ability on either end(once realized of course), his length, shooting percentage from the field and the line, add in an occasional block, good defense, quickness for his height, virtually ideal fit in the system the Rockets would like to run, based of course on the supposition that we add D12 and can start next season with an ideal lineup like Lin Harden Parsons Aldridge Howard We would then have to fill out the bench with vet minimums and any 2nd rounders we might acquire, but I think Delfino and Garcia could be had for those prices and we would still have Smith, T Jones and/or DMO, and Beverly. We know the owner will go into the Luxury Tax for the right lineup, and this is the best lineup we could or have put together in many years, even including the T-Mac/Yao lineups that were destroyed by injuries and never realized the potential we all saw in them.
Ask Portland's GM. It's basically a question of what they value more. Would they rather have a young stud PG or a young stud SF? If we can make something like this work, we also get rid of Lin, Asik and Robinson's contracts...all in one deal.
I saw Miller in trade talks in other forums and with their new coach why not. Lin would be Linsanity agian over there, IMO. really nice fit for him to just explode. or let Lin play some 2 with Miller. It would put the ball in Hardens hands and spread the floor. Fournier has played overseas for a couple of years with same three point %(+or-). With Harden there is no reason to have a true point in the starting line-up. Wilson Chandler would be a beast, too.
I see the value in both players. I've always liked Chandler, even when he was in NY. I saw Fournier sink in some threes on us last season and no doubt it'd be nice to have a sharp shooter on the team. I just don't think the Rockets give up on Lin to go to a experimental starting line up without a point guard. I also don't see us giving up Parson's minutes. I'm sure they believe he can grow even more and possibly get to all star level. Whether that's possible or not, who knows.
I compiled a 4-Team deal about 2 seconds ago and I want some opinions, por favor. HOU gets Rajon Rondo #19 BOS gets Donatas Motiejunas Omer Asik Chandler Parsons #31 #33 CLE gets #13 Shawn Marion Thomas Robinson DAL gets #16 Jeremy Lin
It's an interesting and fair trade idea, but the "Dallas gets Lin" part won't work, they are trying to gain cap flexibility. I don't know if Boston takes it, it's really hard to know what Ainge is thinking. He could easily keep Rondo for years on a bad team, trying to gain major pieces, like he did with Pierce. But if he does look to trade Rondo, that seems a solid offer.
Trade 1 Omer Asik to Sacramento for #7 Pick and Chuck Hayes - Draft Trey Burke [PG]. Sacramento reportedly doesn't love anyone at 7, and would likely jump on the opportunity to get a legitimate C. Trade 2 Thomas Robinson to Brooklyn for #22 Pick - Draft Jamaal Franklin [SG], open up max. Sign Dwight Howard for the max Trade 3 Jeremy Lin, Donatas Motiejunas, #34 Pick to Utah for Paul Millsap (S&T 2yrs 18mil) Sign Delfino to a reduced deal Dwight - G.Smith Millsap - T.Jones Parsons - Delfino Harden - Franklin Burke - Beverley

Brooklyn is over the cap and over the apron as well. Unless they have a trade exception in their back pocket, they can't take on TRob without sending salary back. That means Morey wouldn't be able to clear TRob's salary off the books to create cap room to sign Dwight. The Rockets would only be replacing TRob's salary with whatever guaranteed junk salary they take back from Brooklyn of similar value.
this is possible now but wont be IF dwight signs here the Rockets would not have the cap space to absorb the difference in the two contracts.
Portland wouldn't do that. They already have Batum. Plus, we get LMA. Who's are starting 3? Parsons isn't here. No, Terrence Jones will not start at the 3.
