as if it has not been said for so many times already.... No... they will not count 30 mill on their cap in the last year.... they will pay 30 mill but cap remains at 8.3 each...
Hmmmm, I thought that was only if they stay with the Rockets. Because if that was the case _ NYC and Chicago could have kept them when they signed Morey's contract not worried about the $15 million in their last year if it only counts $8.3 towards their cap. If they are traded it results back to the 5-5-15 towards the cap. But, I'm not a capologist so you could be right.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lvu7rby HOUSTON IN: Rajon Rondo, A. Moultrie. CELTICS IN: DeAndre Jordan, Jeremy Lin, Evan Turner, Thomas Robinson, 2 First round picks via Clippers. CLIPPERS IN: Kevin Garnett. 76ERS IN: Omer Asik. Boston is in rebuilding mode. Rockets sign Howard. LINE UP: PG - Rajon Rondo SG - James Harden SF - Chandler Parsons PF - Terrance Jones C - Dwight Howard
That trade does sound good. but i think i might have a couple players going here n there. look at the trade. HOUSTON IN: Holiday, Green. CELTICS IN: Evan Turner, Thomas Robinson, Butler, Jordan, 2 First round picks via Clippers. (Bos let go of Pierce) CLIPPERS IN: Kevin Garnett, Royce White, Asik (Lac sign Pierce) 76ERS IN: Lin, Delfino, Donuts. Line up Holiday / Beverley Harden / Toney Allen (FA) Parsons / FA Green / Jones Howard / Smith or FA Rondo is good and it works also, but he is not a 3 point shooter. where once we sign howard then we would need to have someone who can pass and someone whos good from 3 point line too. when Harden is driving inside need someone to kick out the ball. so with Holiday it works he can pass and shoots above avg. 3's I dont know how to post the link here but trade works. let me know what you guys think.
I'll second that. Not that I endorse it for every team there, but usually a 4-team proposal made by a fan has someone getting screwed. That one is fairly sound... you could at least argue that it's worth listening to for every team. I do think the Celtics will probably look to do better for Rondo (a star-type player), but Lin-Turner-T-Rob is interesting for a rebuilding team. And you know Sam Hinkie would be interested in Asik, assuming they let Bynum go. Nice work, t0mdotcom.
Appreciate it Clutch! I thought the 76ers might be a good 4th team, given the relationship between Hinkie and the Rockets. It's really hard not to screw a team in a trade like this. The Celtics could even amnesty Pierce.
Best trade proposal I've seen in a long time in this tread. Good job. Now work a deal that can swing us Blake griffin. Assuming that cp3 dwight KG all end up in LA
I agree that as far as fan proposals go, that's a great 4-team trade. I kept scrolling down to see who gets screwed, and it never came. That said, I think the Rockets make out the worst of that trade. Rajon Rondo does not at all fit with James Harden and I don't think the Rockets would pursue him in any capacity.
LOL... Someone send this to Morey, since he apparently listens to our trade offers on ClutchFans! LOL...
To clarify, I'm referring to t0mdotcom's proposal. bgp10626, your proposal is what I meant by scrolling down to see who gets screwed. Incredibly homer towards the Rockets, and trades that would get the Celtics and 76ers GMs murdered by their fans. You think the 76ers would trade Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner for Lin, Delfino, and D-Mo?? Come on now.
This is the way I see it goes down: KG and Doc are becoming Clippers before free agency. Dwight wants to join Clippers. Kupchat says absolutely no to SnT with Clippers. Dwight says I will go to Houston instead. Kupchat finally relented and gives in to SnT for Griffin+Bledsoe. Everyone ends up happy except Houston..........
Although they might not be a "perfect fit", I think Morey would go after almost any SUPERSTAR to pair with Harden. With that being said, could you imagine having to guard a Rondo/Dwight PnR and then having to guard a Harden/Dwight PnR?
I think the other hurdle to a deal like that would be the Celtics' financial situation. You have them taking back an extra $5mil in contracts that are locked in for at least another 2 years. They're already way over the cap. I'm not sure they'd want to take that much more salary back... especially if they could announce Rondo is on the block as well. They may get a much better package than having to involve the Rockets/Sixers.
I would love to have Holiday regardless if we get Howard or not... But Philly is getting screwed big time with that trade.
