Houston has but one known commodity in its backcourt this year; Darian Thibodeaux, who connected on 44 percent of his 3-pointers a year ago, is the lone senior on the Cougars in 2011-12.

After that, the Cougars will rely on a bunch of newcomers who offer "potential" and "upside."

Former Providence recruit Joseph Young, a ESPNU 100 shooting guard in 2010, redshirted last season but is expected to come in and provide immediate scoring. He is described by ESPNU as "the ultimate shooter."

Houston could also get key production out of JUCO transfer Jonathon Simmons, a player capable of playing the 1, 2 or 3. Freshman guards Jherrod Stiggers, LeRon Barnes and J.J. Thompson will also challenge for playing time.
