Iran says draft US deal includes oil sanctions waiver, nuclear limits and asset release | Reuters
    June 14, 2026 5:24 AM CDT Updated 2 hours ago (~5pm)

The Iranian official said the draft memorandum included the following:

    STRAIT OF HORMUZ:
    * Iran immediately reopens the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial vessels, while the U.S. lifts its naval blockade on Iranian ports. The lifting of the U.S. blockade would begin immediately after the memorandum is signed and be completed within 30 days.

    FINANCIAL:
    * The U.S. agrees not to impose any new sanctions on Iran until a final deal is reached.
    * Following a final agreement, all U.S. and U.N. sanctions on Iran would be lifted according to an agreed timetable.
    * The U.S. will waive oil sanctions on Iran for a specified period, allowing Tehran to sell oil and receive revenue.
    * The ‌U.S. agrees to release $25 billion of Iran’s frozen assets, including via direct cash transfers, cooperation among regional countries, and financial credit lines.
    * Washington, in coordination with its regional allies, would prepare a reconstruction and development plan for Iran, to be negotiated and agreed with Tehran within 60 days.

    NUCLEAR:
    * Tehran agrees that it will neither produce nor acquire nuclear weapons.
    * Pending a final agreement, Iran would maintain the current status of its nuclear programme, refraining from further uranium enrichment and expansion of nuclear facilities.
    * The United States agrees to allow Iran to dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium on Iranian soil under a future comprehensive agreement.
    * Iran’s nuclear programme, uranium enrichment activities and mechanisms for handling its stockpile of highly enriched uranium would be negotiated within 60 days of the memorandum and addressed in a final agreement.

What about all the good people suffering under the brutal Iranian regime? This war did nothing for them. Probably made things worse. Oh well.

This is some ****ed up western savior thinking. The results are pretty clear at this point

It didn’t save anybody in Iraq either. In fact it led to millions getting killed, families being slaughtered, with sons being executed and daughters being abused

at some point you have to listen to the people you think are so oppressed and realize they like the status quo (even if they aren’t in love with it), more than an ill intentioned foreign power that has caused irreparable harm and suffering to the people for the last 50 years

So is this any better than the agreement Trump tore up?

    I'm glad it's over though.

This is a hilarious bit of diplomatic bullshit doubletalk. Iranians can rightfuly claim they got the Americans to immediately lift the blockade, while the US can equally say they've got thirty days before they actually have to end the blockade.

LMAO. Just remember the MAGA cultists @raining threes @HTM literally spend pages arguing with you that the JCPOA was a failure cuz it gave Iran money which would then be used to build a program.

Now Trump is allowing Iran to keep its enriched uranium on their land, keep its nuclear program and give them 25 billion dollars LMAO

You sincerely can't make this **** up.

Nah it's cuz you braindead MAGA claimed we needed to bomb iran cuz of regime change and the threat of nuclear weapons yet your cult leader just gave billions to the evil regime and will enable them to have nuclear weapons by keeping their program intact.

This is easily the most embarrassing surrender in decades and you losers @RB713 were wrong about everything.

No. No nuke deal. That's to be ironed out later. Good luck.

If the agreement is as above, Iran gets most of what it wants in exchange for reopening the strait.

Of course it's not. Before the war Iran agreed to zero enrichment and to give up it's entire stockpile of enriched uranium. MAGA claimed @El_Conquistador we couldn't make that deal cuz we couldn't trust the regime and we needed regime change. Now we're allowing them to keep their nuclear program and their enriched uranium on their territory while giving them tens of billions.

The deal, assuming it is signed on Friday...

You hope that Iran will moderate, because America has demonstrated that the U.S. + Israel cannot win against Iran. You can absolutely trace this disaster back to the point when he tore up that deal.

I disagree. I actually think Trump played it smart up until the beginning of the war. The naval buildup was a smart move and he just scored a major win in kidnapping Maduro. America soft war was at all time high. He forced Iran gave up concessions pre war that they never agreed on before. They agreed on permanent zero enrichment (dismantling their nuclear program as well) and they never knew they had the power to close the Strait.

Trump mistakes happened when he started the war on behalf of Israeli Intel telling him regime change was possible. The MAGA cultists told us this was necessary cuz we couldn't trust the IRGC but now they completely capitulated to them.

Given that no deal was reached, they didn't agree to anything. Iran has never agreed to zero enrichment nor to dismantling its nuclear program. They insist it's necessary for civilian use.

The deal was on the table for zero stockpiling and they agreed on dismantling their civilian enrichment facilities in exchange for the Europeans helping them set one up for civilian purposes. They even agreed on giving up it's entire pile of enriched uranium to the Europeans. Zero stockpiling makes the nuclear issue non existent

The Iranians were even willing to talk about it's ballistic missile program pre war. They were giving up everything

During the JCPOA, there was no 60% stockpile. Giving that up merely returns it to JCPOA levels. And while the Omani mediator suggested Iran was offering zero stockpiling and full IAEA verification, Iran never publicly confirmed that as their position. A mediator's optimistic read of talks is not an agreement, as we have seen so often these past few weeks.
