Astros 12-8 in their last 20.

If they could miraculously keep that pace the rest of the way, they would be projected for 86.6 wins.

That pretty much gives the perspective what a deep hole we dug ourselves.

So all we need to do to win consistently is score 10+ runs a game. Easy peasy.

Imai just isn't that good. He's had some good outings but when he sucks, he really sucks.

    Burrows sucks.

Weiss sucks and has ben DFA'd already.

    Nice Dana.

    Yep.

Imai is a 2-pitch pitcher with 2 elite pitches he can’t consistently throw for strikes. He requires 5 days rest between starts and if anything whatsoever disrupts his routine or emotions he immediately becomes completely incapable of performing. If he were a 21 year old prospect in AA it would be fine. But he’s a 28 year old in the majors on a $50M+ contract. Whoever’s idea it was to sign him should be slapped.

This is what happens when you’re up against a budget and your organization insists on not giving free agents lengthy/large deals. You aren’t going to find a WS caliber #2 starter on the market while on a budget. It’s clear we really liked Dylan Cease, and if budget and our FA philosophy wasn’t an issue, I’m certain Dana is signing him over Imai.

That’s why I laugh when people glaze the Dodgers front office. They paid Kyle Tucker $60M/yr and he’s been straight ass. Doesn’t matter. They paid Edwin Diaz $23M/yr and he’s been hurt. Doesn’t matter, they have another $18M/yr reliever to close games. Meanwhile, our $18M/yr starter sucks? Yeah, we are screwed.

Avila on Kansas City was the worst starter we've seen all year... yet he still has a better ERA than Imai!

That's how bad Imai has been this season. Truly astounding.

Imai was handed a 9 run lead and still couldn't get out of the 1st inning. His head is shrunk.

He wasn’t the worst starter we’ve seen all year. We are the ones who blew his ERA up, it was 4.02 coming into yesterday.

I like the defense of Dana ppl on twitter had earlier this year of “he brought in so many pitchers, what more could he have done?” Like, I don’t know, bring in a couple SPs that don’t suck.

At least they’re in the NL so they aren’t really a problem for us. It would really suck being in the same division as them though. Would make it really hard to even care about this sport.

Sure they are, but if he can stay on the field he can be the 6th best hitter and still be mid level bat for a second baseman. He’s a legend and isn’t going anywhere. We need Cam and Brice to step up
