OG is a sneaky pick for finals MVP. He's been the most consistent thru these 3 games, honestly.

 

Mike Brown with these rotations, taking Kat to get a mid quarter break and avoid the 3rd foul then bringing him back in around 3 mins made the difference at the end of that quarter.

 

To be fair, they're only in the finals because OKC got injured. Sometimes these fake finals teams look really bad (though they could easily still win today).

 

Dolan is an ahole, they just needed a competent GM all those decades.

 

Knicks outscored them 42-24 in the 2nd quarter - that has to be as depressing to the Spurs as it is for us to be Rockets fans.

 

Mike Breen is way more professional than me because if the Rockets were in the Finals and I was calling the game, it would be nothing but straight bias, cheering, and sh*tting on the other team

Hakeem at 22 wasn’t even best player on his team. He didn’t have anywhere close to the moves he had at the end. I’d take Wemby at this age over anyone.

It’s not that centers can’t go inside and score anymore it’s that teams realized it’s an inefficient offense. You know prime James harden was more efficient than prime Shaq right?

Second straight game the Knicks have lowered the boom on the Spurs in the 2nd quarter after starting very slow. It's impossible for the Spurs to maintain the physicality every minute. I also think the Knicks defense finally got locked in on what the Spurs were doing on the other end.

I'll repeat that OG is the unsung Knick and has been ever since he went there a couple of years ago.

If Brunson can continue playing like an angry boss in the 2nd half, it will difficult for the Spurs.

Spurs might need 40 from Victor if somebody else besides Castle doesn't step up and we don't know if Castle will continue scoring the ball like this.

Ain't no way the scoring and efficiency will continue in the 2nd half. First half was a complete fluke. It's gonna get grimy and really ugly.

 

I think people overrate Wemby's man defense. Sure, it looks good against dudes who can't dribble or have no offensive skill, like most bigs in the NBA today, but against Bigs that can score...it can look pretty bad. Dudes like Jokic and Giannis put up 30+ against him routinely, Sengun puts up good numbers against him and has a few good games against him and he's like above average offensively. Like dude gives up some huge games against bigs that can score.

His impact on defense is more just rim protecting and team defense in general but he's not hard to dribble past. We've seen OG do it multiple times this series now. The threat is from smaller players because even if you dribble past him he can block your shot...but if you're already near 7 feet tall and stronger than him than that whole blocking from behind thing doesn't really come into play.

I'm not saying Hakeem is better at 22 than Wemby, i think that's a debate...but he'd drop an easy 30. Hakeem was destroying all time hall of fame post defenders. Wemby isn't even near that level. Hakeem had far too many moves and variety to ever be stopped by him and most importantly, understood how to use his strength, which is Wemby's weakness because he has none when compared to other bigs.
