They voted for this administration, and now are crying and b*tching because something now affects them. They don’t give a damn about anyone else, so I don’t give a damn about them. At all. They actively want to see entire groups of people suffer and vote accordingly. There is only one reason they continue to vote the way they do no matter how much they are screwed. There’s only one reason farmers would vote again for tariffs after getting destroyed during Trump’s 1st term, and we all know it. These people are the worst this country has to offer. they voted for families to be brutalized and ripped apart by ICE they voted for the increased racism and rolling back of Civil Rights they voted for Project 2025 they voted for the dude who spearheaded an insurrection they voted for the guy all over the Epstein Files who sexually assaulted women and is the most loathsome president ever while claiming they’re “Christians” fck them, and I wish the absolute worst for them
their vote tells me all I need to know they can enjoy their data center, and hopefully even more get built the leopards are hungry, and they will be fed
“We love liberty and love a lack of regulation,” said Greg Harrell, chair of the Hood County GOP, at a town hall earlier this year. “Data centers are taking advantage of it… They saw an opportunity.” The surge of development here mirrors a data center gold rush across Texas over the past year that is outpacing the speed of regulation. A Tribune analysis found the state has 335 existing data centers, with more than 248 in the works. Only Texas and Virginia, which has been the top state for data centers for the past few years, had more than 100 active projects under way as of March, according to Aterio, a company that tracks industrial development.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this....just hold on another day. Be kind. Kindness is resistance. We're better than this, and we know it. It's pretty dark right now...pretty grim. Be kind....and call out unkindness clearly.
It's a shame when a group constantly votes against their interest and there's no Democrats in power to stop it this time. They'll just have to hope the Dems get back in power and undo the damage so they can go back to blaming the Democrats. Regardless if they didn't vote for data centers being built in their backyard, they voted for politicians who represent pro business and anti environmental concerns. Building data centers without regard to local residents is definitely on brand.
This was the shirt design for Trump's Freedom 250 Grand Prix, until IndyCar started getting feedback and had to pull it. I'm sure it was all an innocent mistake. No, this isn't satire.
I understand why Republicans and Democrats will grovel and offer ridiculous subsidies to get companies to come and build in their districts. They want the job creation. But data centers are the absolute worst, not only is there very limited new jobs but they suck up an immense amount of water and electricity. In addition to the noise. Why the hell would any politician want one in their area??
You do know how politics actually work, right? How else would Congress members be able to retire as multi-millionaires?
The politicians won't live next to those data centers. Besides, from what I've read, after completion, a typical data center that costs billions to build may only leave behind 20 to 100 permanent jobs, and those are generally high-skill positions, such as facility engineers, security personnel, and data center technicians.
